Hi tech is chock full of super high bloated egos that make them elitist no matter what is the rest of their politics, which makes them intrinisically “progressive” - that is “rule by the experts”.
It sounds to me like Balaji wants to create a new kind of caste system, with Greys on the top, Reds in the middle, and Blues (the new Untouchables) at the bottom.

He’s right about stripping the libs of power, he just hasn’t spelled out how to do that, other than, “we the Grays will rule”, a situation leaving all others in a status analogous to dhimmitude.
This is a guy with a plan. Things do not always go as planned.
