“In fact, it shows Louis Tomlinson fans near Four Seasons Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina last week,” a fellow BBC fact-checker said of the 32-year-old singer and one-time Harry Styles bandmate in One Direction.
The footage, also shared by numerous online influencers, was just one of a number aired by Iran’s state TV claiming to show scenes of devastation from the weekend’s air strikes, despite Israel shooting down around 99% of the drones and missiles fired at the Jewish state.
Another that IRINN claimed to be the fiery aftermath of a missile strike was actually from a February forest fire in Chile, the BBC fact finders found.
The Iranian propaganda report suggested that the Nevatim air base in the Negev desert exploded in a fireball, despite Israel reporting negligible impact, according to the outlet.
Other footage that Iran’s state TV claimed showed Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Temple Mount compound in Jerusalem’s Old City celebrating the attack was in fact worshipers marking the end of Ramadan, the journalists also clarified.
The Israel Defense Forces managed to shoot down 99% of the suicide drones and missiles that the Islamic Republic launched at the country in an unprecedented attack Saturday night.

The video was not for you, it was for the people in Iran.
It is propaganda for home consumption.
page is impossible to view...
Media lies all over the world
Didn’t CBS (or another MSM outlet) show footage from Kentucky (or TN) once claiming it was from Syria (or something)?
Very fuzzy memory but I do recall something like that
> It is propaganda for (Iranian) home consumption.
As opposed to what we Americans are told by our media, which is of course 100% true. /s
Tagline...
I thought you left?
You could have easily included the United States
"The COVID-19 virus did not originate in a lab."
"The mRNA vaccines are Safe and Effective."

No, it is also propaganda for the people.
A lesson I learned decades ago.
LOL, of course. That's what the "/s" (sarcasm tag) meant.
I meant I agree with your statement - =:-)
All good :-)
I reside in Ithaca NY, arguably the most radical-left-liberal-democrat small city east of the Rockies. So a majority of my friends and co-workers are of that orientation, and I keep a low profile with regard to my own social and political viewpoints. No desire to get into stupid arguments.
Occasionally someone will mention some propagandized news item they saw on TV or on the internet, and assume it's totally true and trustworthy, and then look at me for agreement and validation. Most times I just mutter something indecipherable.
But sometimes I'll ask, "C'mon, seriously? Do you really believe that sh*t they're feeding you?" -- I just can't help myself. :-)
This is hilarious. Arguments that Iran was not actually trying to inflict serious damage are all over the web (including FR) and yet the Iranians are at the same time trying to convince people of all the horror and destruction they laid on Israel...
...Or that they will “next time”.
