The IDF on Sunday announced that it had concluded the active invasion stage of the war for now while leaving open the possibility of a future new invasion of Rafah in deep southern Gaza.
Although a top IDF official said that this change had nothing to do with US pressure, the timing was unmistakable in coming right after the IDF’s disastrous mistaken killing of seven humanitarian aid workers last week.
Critically, this means that Palestinians can, on one hand, move freely within southern Gaza and Khan Yunis and that there is a complete vacuum for preventing a return of Hamas governance, but the IDF is keeping northern and central Gaza cut off from the south.
Hamas immediately declared the IDF withdrawal, even partial, a victory for sticking to its position of demanding IDF withdrawals, including of troops in northern Gaza.
The world’s attention will likely now shift to whether the IDF will invade Rafah first, whether Hamas will cut a deal for the hostages to avoid such an invasion, or whether Israel will concede further to Hamas’s demands for returning more Palestinians to northern Gaza.

Boy you’re a real winner there sparky.
They need to finish the job.
Muslims and Arabs will not stop until Israel ceases to exist.
Hasn’t anybody ever learned a thing?
As for the rest of it, once a globalist, always a globalist. He does not let facts about Gaza, Egypt, etc get in the way of his pro-palestinian trope
No way.
Israel cannot and must not leave any ham ass battalions or fighters alive in the field. They must all be killed or captured forever.
Anything less is a win for ham ass and a loss for Israel.
Perhaps this is just a strategic redeployment North for the inevitable attack from Iran’s cat’s paw hezbollah. If so, I can be patient while they deal with the bigger current threat.
Really ineffective “genocide” when slightly more than 1% of the population has been killed, according to the propaganda of the baby roasting rapist kidnapping war starters.
Israel surrender, folded to Biden opposition? And fate of American and Israeli hostages?
I appreciate fools like you as ham ass supporters.
Gotta keep the idiocy fresh for everyone to see.
You are parroting Hamas propaganda.
It’s worse than that. Go review his posting history. Full baby roasting rapist kidnapping terrorist supporter.
Hamas will come out victorious just like the Taliban against the United States.
“Gaza has not been turned to glass!”
Not the answer. Terrorists will always be around until there is no one left on earth. The way to get terrorists is take their cover away. And that is done by forcing the people that accept them into the country to want them gone. If the place is leveled, as soon as he dust clears they will be the first ones back into the country. Look at Afghanistan. It has been a terrorist area for many years and it still is.
And many countries have recognized the taliban. While China is the first country to recognise a Taliban ambassador, several other countries including Russia, Iran, Turkey and India have made efforts to engage with the Taliban.
Hamas has its own support group. Such countriesw as Saudi Arabia, Syria, Kuwait, Bahrein, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Libya, Algeria, Sudan and Egypt all accept and support Hamas in the Gaza and Hamas owns approximatekly 27% of the strip. You can’t kill them, they are just as much invaders to the Gaza as any other terrorist group created from the Muslim Brotherhood. Some more can always be rounded up if they are allowed to go in there by the locals. Like the tides.

So after all the hullabaloo how it was important to complete this an get the final vestiges including Sinwar who is holed up on Rafah they pull back. To say I am disappointed does not even cover what I am feeling. Either you finish off Hamas or they re- constitute and there will be another October 7.
Good luck getting anybody behind you next time.

Rebuild from there. Without so called “Palestinians”.
They better hit Rafah fast, that window is just about closed.
“...a bunch of ill equipped, ill trained irregular fighters...”
Fixed that fer ya:
...each one geographically and practically surgically ohysically attached to an enthusiastically supportive “civilian” fanboi....
“... baby roasting rapist kidnapping war starters.”
so when did they stop beating their wives
Thinking they concluded that they had to attend to their friendship with D.C.
Arguably their only (remaining?) true friendship.
And that was before we had drones. Some intel drones are so small, they mimic insects.

Hamas units will just begin to disappear. No one will know for sure what happened to them.Much of it will look like they had a disagreement and shot each other, or that they suffered an accidental explosion from their own ordnance..
