The big moment Today the key moment is Nikki Haley dropping out of the presidential race the morning after Super Tuesday and effectively bringing the Republican primary contest to an end.
Haley announced her exit Wednesday after winning the Washington, D.C., primary on Sunday and Vermont on Super Tuesday, but losing more than 20 other contests to Donald Trump.
“I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard,” Haley said. “I have done that. I have no regrets.”
Haley declined to endorse Trump yet, urging him to convince her voters to support him. Haley’s lack of endorsement stood in contrast to many reluctant establishment voices, like GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Wednesday, rallying around Trump.

Reagan did not face a widespread domestic communist terrorist movement like antifa and BLM, rampant homosexuality, and perverts wanting to mutilate young children. The military was still patriotic, powerful and a male domain not filled with drag queens and leftists immolating themselves. The Universities still has a semblance of sanity. The courts were still generally good.
The domestic foes Trump faces eclipse what Reagan faced. Today calls for a hard fighter like Trump. BTW, Reagan met Trump, liked him and commented that when he shook his hand, he felt like he had just shaken the hand of a future president.
WaPo hated Reagan, now they treat the guy like a saint. “The good old days”.

The “middle of the road” the media loves during the primaries and is crushed by them in the general was figured out. The Republican primary voters took 30 years to get it but they did.

The Reagan voters are still voting for the right, Haley did not win the Evangelicals, and the rest who make up the traditional right.
Especially since Trump is farm more like Reagan than Haley. The temperament may be different, but the two men share a focus on making the US strong and prosperous.
