Yep, that’s what DeSantis should have done

I wonder who convinced him to run at this time.

VERY bad decision 😕

I just hate seeing people crap on DeSantis because he is a truly good man with good ideals.

Totally agree. I like Trump and DeSantis. It's shocking to me to read a lot of the comments and slurs by pro-Trump / anti-DeSantis supporters here over the past year or so. Makes me wonder if some of 'em were rooting for Newsom earlier tonight.

I like DeSantis. But I am going to vote for Trump, regardless of who else in the “GOP” is up for it. That said, I don’t agree with all the dumping on DeSantis. He’s a good man and has done a very good job running Florida, IMO.

It’s gross. DeSantis is not Cruz.

He’s not Romney, or Christie.

He is right on almost everything than Trump.

IT’s just that people like Trump cause he pisses off the left, it’s not ‘reality’.

Can you guys name anything that Trump is to the right on over DeSantis?

Isn’t this site supposed to be about that?

Rhetorical, but thanks for the input.

Do you know what cult of personality means yet?

Try www.duckduckgo.com

Oh, BTW...I nailed it.

I will take a “Cult of Personality” with a good man in lieu of the “Cult of Evil” that we have had with Biden and Obama any day of the week. IF Newsom were to somehow get the campaign spot that would just intensify the evilness of this government cult.

Wow. Where are you in CA -- with everything locked up like that?

My husband and I recently visited Los Angeles a few times (visiting family there) and saw just about everything locked up inside many stores, but LA is a major city of course. Is the great California store lock-up going on all over the state?

Hubby left California (SF Bay Area) back in the mid-1980s. He has zero interest in going back.

Yeah, you guys know what it means. It means Trump can’t do wrong.

He’s wrong on a lot, and just isn’t that great.

BUT I support him now because he pisses off the woke left. I don’t worship him, but he’s going to make the left go nuts.

WTF doesn’t this site have a normal reply, but I was saying DeSantis does that better than Trump would.

I miss William F Buckley’s Firing Line where intelligent people with diametrically opposite views were able to debate without interrupting each other.

We all miss civilized debates like that, but those days are long gone. There really wasn't that much crosstalk during tonight's debate. The worst of it came near the end of the debate.

Many, many debates in recent years were far worse, as far as the candidates talking over each other.

DU says Newsom owned DeSantis, X and FR will say opposite.

The eye of the beholder and bias beforehand always tells who won and lost.

Even so, Desantis kicked Newsom’s ass here.

The ‘wrong’ that I see Trump did was in his selection of certain high ranking government people; I believe he relied on bad counsel to make the choices when he should have gone with his own gut feel. He also should have just outright fired Brennan, Hayden and gutted the FBI from top to bottom. The other ‘choice’ of Sessions for Attorney General turned out to be a disaster on Sessions’ part that totally went against his prior performance as an Alabama US Senator. Inexplicable. How do you screen for someone who ended up performing like Sessions?

That said, I think he’s learned something in the last couple of years of his administration and the ensuing aftermath of all the so-called GOP and government deep staters trying to keep him off the 2024 ticket and will be more selective in his choices.

I haven’t seen any evidence that Trump learned from his mistakes.

In fact, that’s wishful thinking because I think he’s gotten worse about it lately.

That’s fine, but you know I’m right. He hasn’t learned.

You can’t provide any proof or even conjecture that he3’s done any better.

The fascination with Trump being a strong person or good thinker amazes me. He’s just not.

No, I don’t know that you are right. We are only seeing the continuing onslaught of MSM and GOP and Democrats entirely devoted to keeping him off the 2024 ticket using any tactic imaginable.

The little news and insight we DO get is instantly poo-pooed by those allies and those conservatives who either want DeSantis, Haley or anybody but Trump.

I’ll go by what I’ve seen from Trump directly. He’s just ‘ok’.

He’s not worthy of worship or a second term really. He’s better than Biden, but if he wins I don’t expect him to stop the deep state anymore than he did illegals.

He’s a NY Democrat deep down that talked good and did little. He pushed the Covid Warp speed. C’mon.

He pushed the Covid Warp speed. C’mon.

He did whatever he could do in an environment where every government agency and 'concerned universities like WU's IHSE' involved was telling him there were going to be a million dead Americans in the first year. He pushed for a vaccine, yes. And those same government agencies gave him a concoction whose efficacy is still being defended by them against a growing mountain of evidence.

He gave NYS the money and let government contracts to give it the respirators they were clamoring for. He sent in a multi-million dollar tent hospital to NYC that was really never used. Same went for the Hospital Ship he sent there, too. The respirators got junked, unused and the ship, etc. left having wasted their time. Democrat hysteria.

As for your complaint about him not stopping illegals, you forget that even our own Congress (Ryan, especially) worked against him on wall funding, etc. because of their support for National CoC needs and wants.
