A Colorado judge has rejected an attempt by former President Donald Trump to dismiss a lawsuit that seeks to keep him off the ballot here, ruling that his objections on free-speech grounds did not apply.
Trump’s attorneys argued that a Colorado law protecting people from being sued over exercising their free speech rights should shield him from the suit, but Colorado District Judge Sarah Wallace said that law doesn’t apply in this case.
The law also conflicted with a state requirement to get the question about Trump's eligibility resolved quickly, ahead of the Jan. 5 deadline for presidential candidates' names to certified for the Colorado primary, Wallace wrote.
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington claims in its lawsuit that putting Trump on the ballot in Colorado would violate a provision of the 14th Amendment that bars people who have “engaged in insurrection” against the Constitution from holding office. *** The Colorado case is one of several involving Trump that stand to test the Civil War-era constitutional amendment, which has never been ruled on by the U.S. Supreme Court. Along with lawsuits filed in Minnesota and Michigan, it has a good chance of reaching the nation’s high court.
The lawsuits also involve one of the arguments Trump has made in criminal cases filed against him in Washington, D.C., and Georgia for his attempt to overturn his 2020 loss — that he is being penalized for engaging in free speech to disagree with the validity of the vote tally.
Colorado's case will focus in part on the meaning of “insurrection” under the 14th Amendment, whether it applies only to waging war on the U.S. or can apply to Trump's goading of a mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, to halt the certification of President Joe Biden's win.

Their tourist industry is a huge priority.

The judge is an appointee of the communist from CA, Governor Polis. Colorado has been successfully infiltrated and overthrown by the homo-cartel communists. The state currently has no legal mechanism for a course correction. The party in power has erected a substantial defense against a government by and for the people. They put in place procedures of all mail-in voting, same day registration, no voter ID, weak proof of residency. How ever many votes the left needs they just print and count until the requisite number is achieved, there is no stopping them. There are no appeals to a corrupt bench and democrats control all three branches. There are no checks and balances in Colorado, no chances for elections to be decided by legal and eligible voters. The party in control has no sense of justice,(just bake the cake) no shame (abortion legal up to preschool graduation)and worse they know that we know it and so they just stick in our faces and gloat. Pot heads don’t know and don’t care they are more than a mile high and just hoping taco bell is still open.

I know nothing about politics but had an angry woman cancel a reservation. She informed me that we’re trying to ban Trump from our ballot. Will some adult somewhere wake up?
Do not these bureaucrats and faux-judiciary realize that they are fomenting revolution? They think they are safe?
Colorado will first have conviction Trump. Trump will get these judges retired and disbarred once president again.
There was no resurrection by legal findings.
Unfortunately the 14th is so vague that it would only takevone judge’s decision to rule otherwise. It would then be appealed and he would win.
If you read Trumps motion, it stretches credulity. It’s funny this story did not outline Trump’s position.
In a Trump2.0 administration, there are an awful lot of judiciary and legislative members who need a trip to Gitmo for intentional misapplication of the law and for election interference.
