Report: 40% of Brown University Students Identify as LGBTQQIAAP2S+
Breitbart ^ | July 10, 2023 | SIMON KENT

Posted on 07/10/2023 10:08:35 AM PDT by lowbridge

The number of students who identify as LGBTQI+ at Brown University stands at just under 40% of the total enrollment, the institution’s Brown Daily Herald reports.

Latest data outlines between 2010 and 2023, identification as LGBTQI+ has almost tripled among the student body at the Providence, Rhode Island, university (from 14 percent in 2010 saying they were not heterosexual to 38 percent now).

“The Herald’s Spring 2023 poll found that 38% of students do not identify as straight — over five times the national rate ,” student newspaper reported. “Over the past decade, LGBTQ+ identification has increased across the nation, with especially sharp growth at Brown.”

Other sexual orientations have also increased over the same period at the seventh-oldest institution of higher education in the United States, with some observers countering the rise is driven by social pressures rather than sexual choices and noting bisexual identification outstrips bisexual sexual activity.

“Since Fall 2010, Brown’s LGBTQ+ population has expanded considerably. The gay or lesbian population has increased by 26% and the percentage of students identifying as bisexual has increased by 232%,” the student newspaper reported. “Students identifying as other sexual orientations within the LGBTQ+ community have increased by 793%.”

According to previous reporting by the Herald, “queer studies” are taught in several departments, the LGBTQ Center has moved into a larger renovated space and students flock to gay clubs.

The Washington Examiner reports the 38% identification tracks with research from the Center for the Study of Partisanship and Ideology, which found similar levels among elite colleges.

It would easier to call the alphabet people non-white non-males.

“There are several conditions that can cause gender dysphoria, including Klinefelters, Jacob’s, Kallman’s, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Non-Classic Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, hyperthyroidism, and hyperandrogenism. They are typically defects of the endocrine system.”

I do not think that today, in the political agenda that has entered health care, that most kids said to be esperiencing gender dysphoria are (a) even tested for the conditions you noted and (b) that if they were tested most would be found to not have those conditions, just as most with those conditions do not develop gender dysphoria.

Gender dysphoria is a mental condition regardless of the sociologocal or physical conditions that might possibly incite the mind/feelings to develop the obsession. The mind has encountered something, that has set it adrift into the gender dysphoria obsession. Nothing, physical or otherwise, predicates that obsession to be irreversible. Regardless, yes, sympathy and compassion is due to the child; and the bilogical-gender affirming mental health care they need.

I am pretty sure the S goes with the 2, and it means “two spirit”. I remember coming across that in reading (probably on FR), but have no idea what it means and am not really inclined to find out.

There are all sorts of genetic abnormalities. True hermaphrodites having both sex organs; like there are people born with two heads. Six fingers on one hand is very common and usually the extra finger is cut off shortly after birth.

You are again correct.

Unlike some parents, I dug and dug to understand what was happening and why. My child was the polar opposite of a special snowflake. She was (and still is) brilliant, accomplished, artistic, and grounded, a true blessing. When she brought what was happening to our attention, it was earth-shattering. She had been praying for years for God to take this from her and make her normal.

I was battling to save my child.

When I took my child to the clinic, they only ran basic labs. First, they tried to conceal the numbers. When I demanded the results, they admitted that one of her numbers was out of range.

I requested an ACTH stimulation test. They were surprised I even knew what that was and refused, gaslighting me.

I took her to another Endocrinologist, requesting the ACTH stimulation test. Instead, they ran basic labs again. Again, they refused to do advanced labs.

See the pattern here?

It wasn’t until my youngest suffered from premature bone maturation and they gave him the ACTH stimulation test (which came back positive, by the way), that they tested my daughter. Turns out she had NCCAH as well, but in her it caused hyperandrogenism and gender dysphonia.

So sorry, too late to stop her body masculinizing naturally..should have begun treatment earlier. Masculine body hair, musculature, body shape, deep voice, all without outside interference or hormones. It was her system trying to make her into a boy.

At that point, I wanted to start shooting people.

We pushed back, got her into therapy, burned up God’s ear in prayer, tried everything available to slow down her hyperactive endocrine system (because the doctors wouldn’t), and held out hope that like most, the GD would ease on its own.

It did not.

She began transitioning as an adult.

I can’t link on my phone, but if you Google mistaken gender identity in non-classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia, there is a case study that shows how the body can masculinize and references other studies where women with NCCAH also experienced gender dysphoria.

It is driven by an imbalance of hormones.

Unless there is an underlying endocrine defect, for most of these kids it’s mental.

And most of those grow out of it after puberty. Most of the rest decide that they are just gay.

Why anyone thinks that it is a good idea to sterilize kids and cut off their breasts, genitals and reproductive organs boggles the mind.

Does the "S" stand for "straight"?

Nope. The "2S" stands for "Two-Spirit," i.e., "Indigenous people who express their gender or sexual identities as different from others."

You could never even make this crap up.

Exactly.

The push to transition children is contrary to actual science.

“You see through the lens of Biblical prophecy as do I. I find comfort in His promise to “Fear not for I am with you. I will never leave you or forsake you. I will be with you always even unto the end of times.” Maranatha!”

It is our souls He promises...our lives have comparatively little value. But I know He can and does protect our lives frequently, but I think our suffering will be a great lesson in love for those with Jesus in their hearts. We will all suffer, you don’t have Jesus in your heart if you don’t suffer...think about it.

From what I am reading, your daugthter’s case is not typical of most current females expressing gender dysphoria - they have no systemic issues making their body seem more “male”.

And, while some young girls, like your daughter, may have some systemic issue making the body seem more “male”, I don’t think those issues are destroying what makes them female, because an imbalancre of hormones alone do not change the sex designation of cells and what that means to how the cells function, the uterus is still the uterus, the ovaries are still the ovaries, ect, ect. But, what I can see happening is the occurance of things caused by the hormonal imbalance, as in your daughter’s case, being the catalyst from which the mind starts to be convinced that the sex of the bod is “wrong”.

Before all this got a hold in society, a Tomboy was just a Tomboy, and no one, nor the child, was trying to take that to mean they were not a girl. Tomboys learned how to accept and navigate that and develop normally into wives and mothers.

Correct. Her system produced an inordinately high amount of free-floating adrenal androgens. The adrenal receptors in the brain were recognizing them as testosterone and programmed her body to masculinize during puberty.

It would be a mistake to presume that this endocrine impact did not also effect brain development. Dr. Nirao Shah is an expert in brain differentiation between men and women and writes extensively on how the sex hormones during puberty not only direct the body’s development, but also that of the brain (creating distinct neural patterns for male and female brains).

Like others with NCCAH, she experience premature menarche at age 9. This did not surprise me, as my mother and sister both started their periods around the same time. I was the outlier at 13.

Initially I did not recognize some of the signs in my daughter because I, myself, posses them and find them normal. I was more interested in building dollhouses than playing with them. I enjoyed science and engineering, games of strategy such as chess, and was not interested in the frivolous things the girls around me found so absorbing. At work, I deal primarily in risk management and I train managers in the law (I’m the Rainman of Texas property code).

My daughter, even at an early age, had an encyclopedic command of animal facts (including the scientific terms for them), preferred playing with the boys over the girls, had zero interest in dolls, enjoyed building things, etc.

We are not tomboys, per say, just different. In my appearance, at least, I am very much a feminine woman; however, the way my mind thinks tends to be more masculine (facts, logic, reason, solution-oriented). It has certainly made for a peaceful life for my husband.

I will never forget the year she wanted to go to Medieval Times for her birthday. It was right around Halloween and I asked if she wanted us to buy princess costumes to wear when we went. She chose a dragon costume instead. She looked adorable, but definitely stood out from the other little girls wearing floral wreaths, crowns, and flowy dresses.

I’m still holding out hope that the dysphoria will dissipate and she will return to being a woman. Whether it does or doesn’t, I still love her. Underneath the shell is the same brilliant, kind, honorable, hardworking soul I have known all my life.

You are correct that most of these clinics are not even trying to see if there is an underlying medical condition. There is a lot more money in hormones and surgery than in fixing what’s wrong (presuming it can be fixed). There is no legitimate reason to transition children.

I can only imagine, by logic and reason, what you folks have been going through with your daughter. But without knowing that, logic and reason always informed that that much sympathy and compassion is due the child experiencing gender dysphoria, no matter how we feel about what we think the “best outcomes” for it oaught to be. My prayers to you, your daughter and your family.

I sincerely appreciate your compassion.

Far too many people are either unwilling to take the time or unable to understand that not everyone suffering from this condition was abused, groomed, is perverted, evil (fill in any vile adjective you want, I’ve seen them all directed at either myself or my child).

Sometimes, things do not unfold in the development process the way they should. There are studies indicating that trauma experienced during pregnancy can have an impact on the unborn child’s brain development. We know conclusively that drugs and alcohol can; the more I learn about the endocrine system, the more I see some logic in that theory. Given that my daughter was born in 2001, two months premature and shortly after 9-11 (I’m originally from NY and had family at Ground Zero), I initially questioned if that was somehow a contributing factor but later set that line of research aside. She was already nearing the end of the second trimester when it happened and the impact would have not been this severe.

Another issue that came onto my radar during my research was the amount of hormone altering and hormone suppressing/blocking additives that are found in common products used on children, including baby soap, shampoo, etc.

I know during pregnancy, my olfactory senses were heightened. I had to immediately stop going to the salon for my nails and getting highlights in my hair. I had a viscerally negative reaction to the smell of the chemicals. Certain cleaning products and foods would make me nauseated and I instinctively avoided them, despite not having these reactions before pregnancy.

I believe that my system recognized that these items were harmful to my child, although I have nothing definitive as evidence of this claim.

I believe that a lot more research needs to be done. In the meantime, I applaud people pushing back on the lunacy. Dr. Zucker believed that for most kids, gender dysphoria was a psychological issue and required extensive testing by an endocrinologist before stating otherwise. In the latest protocols, they removed his input and swung in the other direction towards all affirmation all the time to the detriment of children.

You must be applauded for your ability, particularly in your situation, to take an informed position, instead of a knee-jerk position, in either direction. Hate is never the answer to anything as your life has witnessed.
