United Auto Workers withholding Biden endorsement over concerns with EV policies

The Leaders of the United Auto Workers (UAW) are withholding their endorsement for President Biden’s reelection bid due to their concerns over the White House’s focus on electric vehicles.

The president has directed major funding towards a transition to electric vehicles, building up manufacturing of parts and charging stations. The UAW said in a memo obtained by The Hill that their concerns over the transition need to be addressed before they can endorse Biden.

“The federal government is pouring billions into the electric vehicle transition, with no strings attached and no commitment to workers. The EV transition is at serious risk of becoming a race to the bottom. We want to see national leadership have our back on this before we make any commitments,” UAW President Shawn Fain said in the memo.

Diaper brain must be late on the kickback payment to the UAW.

Does a UAW endorsement really mean anything? We know that pretty much all unions are going to endorse Dems because that’s their cash cow. Doesn’t mean the rank and file will vote for them.

EVs don’t require as many workers to assemble, and what assembly there is can be done by machines.

Machines can assemble electric motors and have way fewer parts, whereas a IC Engine has many many machined parts that require meticulous assembly...........

As if they are not going to endorse the Party who hates their workers.

Even the coal unions endorse and fund the Dems who vow an end to coal.

Paying the mortgage of your executioner. Maybe buying his plane ticket to where you are to be executed just for frosting.

There are hundreds of millions of jobs that are directly or indirectly dependent on fossil fuels, and a huge number of those jobs are for union members.

Why haven’t the unions protested the attempt to destroy the hundreds of millions of jobs?

It’s all kabuki theater. The union leadership will eventually fall in line, and endorse the entire Democrat ticket. Biden and his handlers know that.

Ah, but the union membership, that’s another story. It’s not 1930 anymore. Endorsements mean little. It’s just my opinion, but I think most of the membership will go with the candidate who seems to best represent middle-class values.

I say “seems to” there because Democrats are quite good at lying.

UAW isn’t concerned it won’t work and will bankrupt the country for no reason at all. All they are concerned about is that Brandon “has their back,” i.e., make sure union jobs build unworkable EVs.

I hate the UAW almost as much as I hate Biden.

I still won’t buy a vehicle that was built by UAW labor.

The endorsement means nothing anymore. The Democrats have a lock on voter fraud and vote harvesting. Pick a name, any name, and if the Democrats want to, they can elect him/her/ze/zem/zot.

I assume the UAW doesn’t and won’t consider endorsing anyone else than Biden.

Hold on a second Red Badger.

Rivian says they’re going to need 7500 workers to assemble 400k of its toy EV trucks every year. Which is one of the reasons the POS kemp wants to give them $1,500,000,000 in tax breaks.

While down I85, Kia puts together around 350k ICE vehicles a year.

Someone ain’t telling the truth.

It’s not about endorsements. It’s about money laundering and that will continue at full speed.

30% of auto workers will be out of work when EV’s are in full production. Germany finally saw the light on their export giant car industry and said to the EU, wait a minute!
