Charges against Alec Baldwin have been dropped in the fatal on-set "Rust" shooting, according to sources familiar with the matter. Baldwin, 65, had been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter after fatally shooting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, on the New Mexico set of the Western in October 2021.

This will come back to bite the rodents in the kneecap later on.
It is so grossly “IN YOIUR FACE” it will have legs next year.
You are right, and I agree with what you say. However there is one mitigating circumstance, and this falls back onto Baldwin in his Producer role, she was doing double duty on the set as both Head Armorer and as Property Master, and that is why she wasn't personally on the set that day with the firearms. She was off on another set dressing it with props.
OK, you're an actor on a set, and you have a scene where you drive a car really fast then slam on the brakes right in front of the camera.
But the car you were given has faulty brakes and when you hit them nothing happens, and you plow through the camera crew and unit photographer and maybe a couple of lighting and sound crew.
Who's criminally responsible for not making sure the brakes on the car were in proper working order? The actor driving, or the film's car wrangler who gave him the keys and a thumbs up?
I did say Alec was liable as producer in the company who hired her.
I dont think thats a mitigating circumstance. The armorer also has the job/responsibility of physically securing the weapons. If she isnt there, no one should be able to get to the weapons, because then, the armorer cannot declare them to be safe/clear, or ready for a scene. Something in the chain of responsibility that starts with her, was off.
Hope the civil liability suits leave him living under a bridge somewhere. Faint hope. but I can dream, can’t I?
Even uber leftist George Clooney said that it is the responsibility of the actor to verify that the weapon is safe. If it was some b-list actor he’d have been convicted by now
I still wonder about the “if” factor, i.e. “if” Baldwin was filming a gun-in-his-mouth suicide scene that fateful day; would he have checked the weapon, or not?
The law doesn’t recognize exceptions, in regards to guns. “Everybody but actors, must check their guns.
He’s also the EP. It is his job as EP to check those guns any way to ensure they were properly prepared before he checks of that box. If he had done the job that he had, as EP, he would have seen the bullet and got the gun re-prepped.
He failed to follow the law and he failed his position as EP.
Many conservative actors, like John Schneider, has said they do their gun checks themselves if they are aware that they are using a real gun.
It was Baldwin’s call to save a few thousand dollars by using local real guns than fly prop guns from a Hollywood armory.
That’s a third failing on his part.
Now he gets to join the ranks of the very exclusive club of “celebrities” who murdered people and got away with it: OJ Simpson and Robert Blake. And folks everywhere will be wanting to have their pictures taken with him. Ahhh, life is good.
I posted those names too, before I read your post. We both think alike!
Shocking! I tell you, just shocking!! Two tiered justice system in predicable action!!
SNL can pick him up for the campaign and 4 more years of the ridiculing of Trump.
Baldwin’s dad (Alex) was the rifle coach for the Baldwins’ school district (Massapequa NY). Alec should have known the rule, “Never point a gun at another person, (even if you think the gun is empty), unless you intend to shoot them.”
Didn’t see that coming {sarc}
Don’t worry, the Lord has this covered and will see to it he pays. {If he thought it was HOT in NM, wait until he sees his future eternal “home”.
I tend to agree.
You're kidding right? Alec Baldwin is a aggravated mess and his wife is a fraud pretending she's a foreigner. The "performing arts" those kids will be exposed to is the filth of Hollywood.
Not the same. He was the director as well as an actor, who saw that the required protective barriers were not in place between him and the camera crew and pulled the trigger anyway.
... "devoid of regard for the life or lives of others."
This is a surprise? To who?
the source said the gun was modified before it reached the set, to allow it to fire a bullet without the trigger being pulled.
Could be that Baldwin, leftist though he is, really is innocent.
