Russia is welding ageing naval turrets onto old armoured vehicles to make crude tanks as Vladimir Putin’s forces face worsening arms shortages.
The crudely engineered vehicles are being deployed in a likely attempt to shoot down Ukrainian drones as the armed forces grapple with crippling shortages of fighting machines and ammunition.

New footage from an undisclosed location appears to show a 25mm 2M-3 twin-barrelled naval anti-aircraft turret fitted to a Soviet-era MT-LB amphibious fighting vehicle to form a new hybrid weapon.
The amalgamation, which was constructed with parts manufactured as early as 1945, could be seen being transported by rail, potentially to Ukraine.

Its 25mm guns were likely procured from a naval patrol boat, an area where Russia has a rare surplus, while its tracks could date back to the 1950s.
Military experts said Russia is likely being forced to improvise from dwindling stockpiles to backfill for destroyed or lost hardware in Ukraine.
Moscow likely turned to a naval turret because its navy has been far less depleted than its battle-stricken land forces, according to Justin Crump, of Sibylline, an intelligence and geopolitical risk firm.
“I suspect it was improvised from naval turrets as they had access to them and the relevant ammunition,” he said.

Forty year old Soviet garbage from Albania is what we are giving Ukraine?
If we gave them anything useful (jets, helicopters, tanks) the sort of things to fight a 20th century war much less a 21st century one Ukraine would have beaten the Russians by now.
For some reason (Uranium One payoffs) it seems Biden refuses to give any real help to Ukraine.
Lol true
I guess the difference we are bombarded by people saying Russian losses are fake news Ukrainians are losing 50-1, Russian military, economy and manufacturing are all doing splendid….
Hey after 6 months they have almost taken bakmut and successfully denazified many Ukrainian er ah Russian cities with their humanitarian rockets and missiles…

It’s an act of war against both Russia and Germany. It also violated neutrality in the active WWIII in the Ukraine area and now Russia has every right to retaliate...to fight their opponent.
Meanwhile and going forward, how is the German economy doing?
Well no.
The Ukrainians are deploying lots of captured Russian tanks and armor. It is very possible that Ukraine has more captured Russian tanks than are being supplied by various NATO nations.
It is reported that Russia is now sending T 62 tanks that date from the 60’s into the battle. Russia is out of the good modern tanks.
There are reports of some new tanks being deployed but they fail mechanically. Having been hastily manufactured and lacking some parts no longer available, they just don’t work very well.

NATO isn’t fighting here.
It is Russia who is fighting (and losing to) the Ukrainians.]
NATO hasn’t even joined the fight

yes, jacknhoo - Ukraine IS the underdog in this fight.
They have received a lot of money and weapons since April 2022 —> remember that that is because of the way they fought in Feb and Mar.
Travis - what is your response to this? for months you were posting that millions of Germans were going to freeze to death in the winter of 2022-2023.
When that didn’t happen you went mum for weeks.
Do you admit you, Travis McGee, were wrong?
And remember that Biden was the one who pulled out American advisors in the months before Feb 2022.
Biden also offered to ship out Zelensky - trying to give up Ukraine to Russia just as Biden gave up Afghanistan to the Taliban.
Biden also was pushed to give aid after March 2022 when public opinion saw how the Ukrainians fought more or less on their own against the Russian machine for 2 months and actually pushed back the Russians.
Biden is Putin’s pal it seems

Altogether, real GDP is expected to increase slightly by 0.2% in 2023. This represents an upward revision from the -0.6% projected in the Autumn Forecast, mainly driven by abating energy prices and by the policy support to households and firms which have shored up the growth outlook
