It doesn’t matter who is buried, digging up the dead body of anyone laid to rest (besides forensic investigators cracking a cold case) is extremely disrespectful.
Richmond, Virginia Democrat Mayor LeVar Stoney ordered a grounds crew to dig up the decomposed body of Confederate General AP Hill.
The move by Stoney comes a day after General AP Hill’s statue was taken down and due to his statue being used as a tombstone, his body was removed the very next day.

Beautiful, historic Richmond, to which I have ties, has been ruined .... the monuments of ‘The City of Monuments’ are gone and the last insult to the history of the city and the family of General Hill, the desecration of his grave. There are MANY (including myself), who will no longer set foot across the city line and that resolve will last longer than the mayoral term of Levar Stoney .... he leaves behind a lot of ugliness in more ways than one.

Mayor is not worried. He knows that is one voter who’s vote he wouldnt get in the next election. Better get it disposed of and pu someone in that hole who will be a more reliable vote.
This the erasure culture in action. Ironically A P Hill was actually an abolitionist. He never owned a slave, in spite of coming from a wealthy family and was a dues paying member of the American Anti=Slavery Society for several years until this organization became the American Hate Southerners Society.
