Third World Electorate
American Greatness ^ | 11/12/22 | By Matthew Boose

Candidate quality? How about voter quality?

Like the Democrats after 2016, Republicans are bewildered by the results of the midterm elections and are busy searching for a scapegoat. The establishment blames Donald Trump, while MAGA blames Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). Others, echoing Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” remark, are inclined to fault the ignorance of the electorate. This “blame the voter” narrative may have a taste of sour grapes, but it makes a good deal of sense. Poll after poll shows that Americans share the pessimism of the Republican base. If voters don’t like the way things are heading, why did they reward the people running the show?

Nobody wants to say it, but Trump didn’t make Pennsylvania vote for a potato any more than Mitch McConnell did. The truth is, Pennsylvanians got what they wanted in John Fetterman. The Left’s cynical, sentimental approach worked: voters identified with a victim in a hoodie with a superficial “working class” image pushing class envy. If we’re going to discuss “candidate quality,” Dr. Oz can at least speak coherently. He should have won easily, and there is no reason to suppose another Republican would have fared better. The problem here is voter quality.

The picture we got from Tuesday is that of a decadent, vegetative electorate easily swayed by platitudes and sentimental appeals, fervently attached to its entitlements. Within the living memory of many Americans, abortion was widely illegal and considered a grave evil. Americans now appear to regard it as a treasured right.

The bottom line is, Democrats would vote for dead people, people with strokes that can barely talk and mental patients who think they are another sex than what they were born with. The inmates are runny the asylum, and the brain dead voters put them in office

57% of US households paid no federal income tax in 2021.

… and their votes count just like ours.

Anyone who remembers Jay Leno’s interviews on the street knows how ignorant Americans can be about basic 6th grade level government and civics issues. And we’re not just talking about the Selfie Generation here. There are a lots of 20-, 30-, and 40-years olds who haven’t a clue who their senator or governor is, how many justices are on the Supreme Court, and the fact that the constitution/bill of rights does not grant rights but prevents the federal government from infringing on rights given to us by God. And it’s getting worse. It’s a perfect environment for idiot candidates like Biden and Befuddleman.

Indeed.

For all their accusations of a “Trump cult”, it’s been my experience that it’s democrats who truly have a slavish, almost cult like devotion to the democratic party label.

They’ll literally vote for anyone with the magical “D” after their name. Doesn’t matter how incompetent, dishonest, corrupt, mentally ill, ignorant, or stupid their candidates may be. I used to work the polls on election days in New york city and I’ve seen it myself time and again.

I recall, for example, sheldon silver. The once all powerful majority leader of the new york state assembly. Everyone in New york, his supporters as well as his opponents, KNEW he was thoroughly corrupted. And they also knew how he worked his schemes. Yet, his constituents routinely re-elected him every election year.

They didn’t care about his corruption, nor how his corrupted activities were hurting them as well as the state. It took a federal prosecutor to knock him off his perch and put silver behind bars where he belonged. If it wasn’t for that, the (democrat) voters would still have returned him to office yet again.

The author makes some valid points. But he misses an important one: Election fraud.

You are right. Florida did away with any possible voter fraud and look how well they came out.

Another badly reasoned and, wow, badly written American Greatness take.

Hate John Fetterman as you like and think Dr. Oz can “speak coherently “ and “should have won easily.”

I’m a native son—shout out to Lancaster and Catholic High. We see phonies for who they are and, again, hate him as much as you like, but Fetterman went to rural counties and towns and was believable enough to shave off enough points to win.

Oz was always full of shit.

My take? The Repubs opened the door to early voting to help seniors. The Dems doubled down and used it to dump ballots. We have a useless third-world AG Merrick Garland who is 100% politically motivated.

Many Republicans and Corporatists like Democrats. Nothing will change unless we started electing good quality Republicans, not people like Oz.

Yup.

With Biden, Fetterman, and (perhaps) Hobbs beating better candidates, I will only accept fraud as the reason. It’s not the voters. It’s not “failure to get out the vote”.

There is too much weirdness. Too many delays in the counting. It’s fundamentally broken, and telling voters to “vote better” misses the central problem.

We need election reform so that everyone can truly trust the results. And then — and only then — if a brain dead ogre with a track record of failure and extreme positions on most issues manages to beat a surgeon with middle-of-the-road policies ... at that point I will start to blame stupid voters. But not before we reform the process.

It’s not the electorate, it’s the fraud.

While there are some diehard idiots out there that would vote D, the main reason that democRATS are winning is that they’ve perfected fraud over the years.

Look to Florida to see what reasonably secure elections does - the US is mostly a conservative nation.

What’s the point of Free Republic, and all other similar sites, if a supermajority of non-leftist won’t put pro-conservative thoughts into actual action? The second civil war should of happened long before now! No Conservative Actions =The Left Wins, Every Time, From Now On!

And I’ll add that the reason McConnell doesn’t say anything is that he has maintained his position through fraud. Part of the uniparty good-old-boys network.
