More than four in ten Americans have been forced to cut back on everyday habits and items, including the amount of groceries they purchase, as a result of Bidenflation, a recent Suffolk University/USA TODAY survey found.
They survey asked respondents about the habits they have had to change due to the reality of rising prices in President Biden’s America. Bidenflation was much worse than experts predicted for the month of June, rising to an annual rate of 9.1 percent, according to the Department of Labor.
Perhaps what is more, the cost of basic items, such as food, rose by more than 9.1 percent. Food, for instance, rose 10.4 percent in the last year, and food at home rose 12.2 percent.
Energy costs have risen 41.6 percent in the last year, and gasoline, specifically, has risen 59.9 percent, according to the report.
As a result, Americans have been forced to change their habits. According to the survey, 45.3 percent of Americans have had to cut back their spending on groceries, and 59.4 percent said they are now going out to eat less often as the result of inflation.

And cigarettes in a lot of instances. I notice our local “unhoused” folks(apparently ‘homeless’ is hurtful) have cell phones, booze/drugs, cigarettes available most if the time. Guess I’m mean for noticing. 🙅
We’re up to our armpits in Japanese beetles at the moment.
No need to buy any.
You can have ours.
We will NOT eat ze bugs.
Nearly half almost. To be honest, we consider more facets of what was before done pretty care free.
😂🙌 Yup, one square sheryl.
If you can get it at a Military base, 24 cans for what the 20 cans cost. Finding the Scotch is hit and miss.
At Walmart: Found best BBQ sauce ever...Kraft Mesquite Smoke 18 oz $1.42.
There are already fireplace “burn code” requirements around us. If it’s cold enough folks ignore them.
10% are very well off, or rich.
40% are cutting back.
50% are on food stamps.
😂🙌
I buy the canned mandarin oranges...add a little sour cream and tbsp of vanilla pudding....or just plain. I rarely drink the juice so cut down the calories that way.
There has been a serious shift to “generic” or store brands, and substitution of things like turkey for beef or pork, but don’t kid yourself. Pasta is NOT “white meat”, no matter what your Italian grandmother told you.
And “day old” or expired bread still retains most of its nutrition. Just throw it in the freezer when you get it home.
For seniors, don’t forget the senior discounts available. Thursday at Harris Teeter has one.

Got rid of Netflix, switched the phone to a discount prepay, pricing out my car insurance, Sirius will probably go next. I could switch my internet to the competitor for the introductory fee, however I have the better service and with remote work I need it.
I had four meals “out”, two of them egg McMuffin meals which are more expensive each time I go. Won’t have those for a while. I blew my budget at the farmer’s market this week for the first time since I increased it two years ago and need to make sure I am getting through everything I get by freezing, drying or canning it.
Thank god I have a good sourdough starter and can get flour wholesale.
I can get pork shoulder for less than $2 a pound still. I’m using that instead of ground beef when I can as well as some other crockpot meals.
Imported cheeses are insane, so I moved to a little cultured butter for my crackers for my after work snack. (Ok that one is a little bourgeois).
Wine is gone. Beer is gone. Sparkling water is gone.
I expect to get taxed at some point for being able to do this.
Fortunately the wealthy are not affected.
I’m finding myself buying a lot more store brands.
I've been making wine for 20 years.
And you don't need presses, crushers, and fancy containers....you can buy 6 gallon pails of fresh juice for about $50.
Ferment it out yourself; my per bottle cost is about $2/bottle. And just as good as any store bought wine.
If you invest in a 40 gallon stainless steel tank, you don't even need to bottle the wine....just pour from the tank.
Wow that is cheap 85% hamburger here is $6.03 at Walmart!!
Good to know. Thanks.
Based on the average weight of people I see, they haven’t cut back enough.
And besides, cutting back on junk food is not really a sacrifice.
Electric prices in NH are set to go up significantly tomorrow.
We are stocking up on wood and watching fuel oil and propane prices and trying to catch them before they shoot up.
I suspect, and this is just speculation, that fuel prices will continue to drop for a while until the election. The democrats will want to be able to take credit for the lower prices to garner votes, and enough idiots will believe them.
In the meantime, the longer we go before the prices go up, the more we can fill up at the lower prices. It will probably be put last shot at decent prices for a long time.
