The committee investigating January 6 and the attack on Congess opened with bombshell video footage on Thursday that showed a number of his most trusted aides and advisers, including his daugher Ivanka Trump, explaining that they knew the election was not stolen.
...She spoke of her perspective being changed after hearing that Bill Barr, who was Trump’s attorney general for most of 2020, until he resigned that December, had explained to her father repeatedly that he had lost the election.
“I respect Attorney General Barr. So I accepted what he was saying,” Ivanka Trump told congressional investigators.
The committee showed a video of Barr’s appearance before panel investigators. In that video, Barr called his former boss’s fraud claims “bullshit” and said that he had “repeatedly told the president in no uncertain terms that I did not see evidence of fraud that would have affected the outcome of the election. And frankly, a year and a half later, I still haven’t.”
He added that he told the president at the time that there was “zero basis” for his allegations that the election was rigged against him.
Barr said he spoke to Donald Trump shortly after the November 2020 result and “I made it clear to him that I did not agree with the idea of saying the election was stolen, and putting out this stuff, which I told the president was bullshit, and I didn’t want to be a part of it.”

Yes. When you "respect" a lawyer and "accept" what they are saying, it may not be because they are right about the facts, but because they understand what can be done and what can't be done with the laws and practical conditions the way they are.

There sure are a lot of Freepers making comments here who aren’t even a tiny bit embarrassed to identify themselves as complete idiots. Where did the objective and critical thinking go?. With the understanding that this comes from The Guardian, selective editing is at play, no details of the total context of the interview particularly with respect to how the questions were framed (and what was said that preceded them), the fact that the answers were really a non-incriminating nothing response.... and with all that as the backdrop, folks want to form an opinion on the fact that she used the words ‘accepted the results’ as the basis for criticism of her? There might be a lot of things to be critical of Ivanka but there sure doesn’t look like one of them....
Sheeeesh.... forget the objective and critical, how about just doing some thinking for a change as opposed to just going the knee jerking thing?

I find it interesting to watch how the left is concentrating on driving a wedge between President Trump and his inner circle, even his children. And, I am amazed at how many people, even on FR, are falling for it.
After reading her statement and the President’s, I don’t see him mad at her about what she said. He seems to have raised her to be an intelligent young woman who has opinions of her own. They will not completely fall into line with his and, at times, may be totally contrary to his; but, they are hers and honestly hers. And, I don’t think it is our place to try to drive that wedge deeper to widen the gap between them.
I believe she is wrong, but I respect her opinion and her right to have that opinion. Unless I am reading it wrong, it seems from everything I have seen that her father does as well. Nuff said.

His advisors?......it wasn’t until the steal took place that all of them jumped ship (the ones he didn’t get a chance to fire) and were exposed for what they really were in books, interviews. He was new to politics.......he trusted people he shouldn’t have, those who did not have the best interests of the President and the country. This MAGA has really caught fire since the steal and the way January6 participants have been treated and put in solitary whilst Byrd murdered Ashli Babbitt and goes scot free. MAGA is here MAGA will stay and the President won’t be fooled again. Politicians are bottom feeders.........not a bit of difference between them. Some are straight up and trusted but the RINO’s need to be eliminated at the ballot box and let President Trump come back and straighten this mess out before this country is gone for good.
