Human life suddenly became less valuable when a "constitutional right" to abortion was created by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973.
Part of the worry from critics was that that very standard would be applied to seniors, too.
In Colorado. which was a leader in the race to turn abortion into a national industry, the move to get rid of seniors also surged at that time.
In fact, it was Colorado's governor, Dick Lamm, who shortly later proclaimed to senior citizens, "We've got a duty to die and get out of the way…"
Now a report from The DCPatriot is pointing out how the international community is pushing that very message of self-destruction.
The report quotes Christine Lagarde, chief of the European Central Bank, who appeared with the statement, "Old people live too long and this is a risk for the global economy."

Sounds like a typical democrat. After a while, even they get sick of their crap.
Cuomo did his part. Kill thousands of seniors.
I’m 68. It has always been the liberal notion that retired people just suck up resources. I’ve dealt with several local companies being run by men (and a couple of women) older than me and still working. I see “bag boys” at Publix working well past their best-by. So, yeah, there are older people in hospitals living out their last days in pain and suffering. But for the most part my observations are that we are still pulling our weight.
you first
im right behind you ;)
And Dick Lamm was a Democrat.
I might just decide to live to 150+, just to pi$$ off the left.
Nobody's stopping this guy from shooting himself.
Rather than euthanasia, why doesn’t someone just off Christine Lagarde? Would that not be a plus for civilization?
What a great idea!
I have a colleague who is a Principle Engineer and he is 87. He started his career in the mid 1950s.
The man is incredibly sharp and a treasure trove of information. I will never buy into crap that libs push for kicking old folks off the cliff into the grave.
He is more productive than 99% of 20 somethings these days.
When “euthanasia” becomes compulsory, the ruling elite will be exempt.
She’s so self important. It would have to be God doing it. Else she’d complain.
Dick Lamm lived to 85. I wouldn’t exactly call that getting out of the way.
What's this "We" crap?
That old folks still pitch in to help to me isn’t so relevant. It is the breakdown of family and community—in which elders are valued enough for who they are to be taken care of even if they outlive outward productivity—that is what was lost. Yes, abortion has coarsened and degraded our valuing of human life, but the assault has been broader than that.

Well none of the folks you listed there are really retired though. Sure they may have retired from their main career, but they’re still working. Me, my plan when I retire is to RETIRE. I will damn sure not do any work. Cause that’s what I’ve been working for, to NOT work. And if somebody complains I’m sucking up resources I’ll laugh in their face, hopefully with garlic breath. I put those resources there, they’re mine to use.
Exactly! But remember, the leftards think it’s not your money, it’s the ‘state’s’ money and you shouldn’t have a say in how it’s used because their motives are pure and yours aren’t.
