The BMPTs - or tank support combat vehicles as they are designated - were seen near Severodonetsk in Luhansk region.
‘They are involved in the fire destruction of Ukrainian positions, armoured vehicles, and crews of anti-tank missile systems,’ a defence source told state news agency RIA Novosti.
It is equipped with grenade launchers, anti-tank systems and small arms, and was nicknamed Terminator by its manufacturers Uralvagonzavod.
The Terminator saw action in Syria and was initially moved to the Ukrainian border in February.
It is unclear why Putin’s generals have delayed its deployment until now.
One theory is that his beleaguered commanders do not trust it to be as all-conquering as its name suggests.
Putin takes the gloves off? God forbid the Russian scorched policy II.
He’s going to fail even more spectacularly now
If they have lighter armor than the main battle tanks, then I don’t think they are going to fare any better under rocket fire.
It's a T-72 chassis with two 30mm guns, 4 missiles and automatic grenade launchers.

Scary name, but its looks like a T-90 without the big gun and more crew members to die when it gets frag’ed by a Javelin.
So is Ukraine going nickname a until John Connor?
Yea! All those new American howitzers need targets for the Ukes to practice on.
Virtually worthless things looking for Carl-Gustaf. 7 were spotted entering the Donbas region.
Only 20 made because no one knows what the are actually good for on a battlefield against a determined army. Likely will be appearing in the lists on Oryxs along with the 8 new T-90Ms being shipped to the front to join with the one already known destroyed (by Orc tank, after it was disabled by UA).
5 man crew. Now Ukraine can kill 5 Russians at once instead of just 3.
I can accept that having armored vehicles with 30mm cannons could be a valuable asset as part of a balanced armored force. But how would these be deployed? What tactics would be used? The 30mm cannon could be a real useful weapon in urban combat.
This article reads like someone with autism wrote it.
Unless there is some top secret top side protection or anti-missile system, they are just a less expensive toy for Putin to lose.
He’s just going to grind up the Ukrainians with artillery, if he can protect the artillery/missile units and naval platforms.
The thing about this invasion is that it’s starting to look like the Spanish Civil War. Each side testing tactics, men, machines etc... for the really big fight to follow.
Does anyone know how long it would take Russia to fully mobilize it’s male population for “threat to the Rodina” from the evil NATO/US forces “threatening” mother Russia from Finland, Baltics, and Poland?
I know that most of their cities have extensive underground bunkers but what about weapon production, training etc..... just for artillery and infantry. Then there is always the nukes... if he is going out like the Hitler we are making him out to be... (suicide), he just might want to take everyone with him.
