Vladimir Putin has finally deployed his 'Terminator' military vehicles in battle in Ukraine as Kyiv continues to obliterate invading Russian tanks with the help of British missiles.
Video shows the much-vaunted armoured vehicles, which are designed to support infantry units fighting in urban areas, in the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine.
The deployment of the BMPT Terminator comes as Russia's invasion of Ukraine has taken a heavy toll on Putin's main army tanks - the T-90M tank - after Ukrainian troops continue to obliterate them with rockets.
Ukraine said this week its armed forces had destroyed Russian tanks deep behind enemy lines in the Donbas region using British-made Brimstone missiles for the first time.
Elsewhere today, the surrendered heroes of Mariupol have been taken to a Russian 'concentration camp' as fears grow for their safety, while Putin has continued to suffer blows with the loss of a further colonel, while a soldier has become the first to plead guilty to war crimes.
In an effort to bolster Russia's arsenal, a platoon of Terminator military vehicles were deployed and used for the first time in battle in the Donbas.

Perhaps, it can react faster to a close in threat, such as javelin attacks.
No, no, no.
The TV said 7 weeks ago that Russian troops were out of gas. How then can Russia have any territory in Ukraine?
🤣
How long do you think before the first goes up in flames? I give it 3 days.

Yea! All those new American howitzers need targets for the Ukes to practice on.
Virtually worthless things looking for Carl-Gustaf. 7 were spotted entering the Donbas region.
Only 20 made because no one knows what the are actually good for on a battlefield against a determined army. Likely will be appearing in the lists on Oryxs along with the 8 new T-90Ms being shipped to the front to join with the one already known destroyed (by Orc tank, after it was disabled by UA).

One theory is that his beleaguered commanders do not trust it to be as all-conquering as its name suggests.

No one does (from Wiki I assume):
“My personal opinion is that a machine like the Terminator is dubious. Simply because it does not have any advantages that are significant over the main battle tank. Neither in terms of the fire control system, nor in terms of the capabilities of conducting reconnaissance, surveillance and target designation, nor in terms of the capabilities of their weapons. That is why I say that finding the Terminator’s place in battle formation is problematic.”
“In terms of its reconnaissance capabilities, the BMPT offers nothing to surpass the means of observation and fire control of the contemporary tanks.”

What can this thing do that a tank can’t do?

Nothing since its a T-72 refurbished hull with a fancy and expensive turret. Further, a rifle shot can take out the sighting devices, leaving it blind and helpless like ordinary T-72s - T90s.
“This Daily Mail article said these Terminators (tanks?) have been used in Syria.”
That’s why I asked. I was not aware they had been used in Syria, and your comment surprised me. So, the Daily Mail is just talking out its ass again.
dennisw said it had been used in Syria.

Different version.
agreed.
Ah.
5 man crew. Now Ukraine can kill 5 Russians at once instead of just 3.
That turret sure looks like a good target.

Would be when the fire teams can do better that 3 misses out of 3. Or better then one shot every 4.5 minutes.
Major problem is that there are no artillery oriented drones in the UA inventory, like the Orc Orlon-10, and they have few counter-battery radars, and the fire crew are green as opposed to practiced and experienced Orc fire crew with unlimited shells to fire.
They have to rely on short-range commercial drones to correct their fire by guesstimates. Which puts the volunteer operators in an Orc kill zone.
I can accept that having armored vehicles with 30mm cannons could be a valuable asset as part of a balanced armored force. But how would these be deployed? What tactics would be used? The 30mm cannon could be a real useful weapon in urban combat.
This article reads like someone with autism wrote it.
