William Barr is urging Republicans to put former President Donald Trump in the rearview mirror in 2024 in favor of the political party’s younger leaders, the former attorney general writes in a new book.
In his upcoming 600-page book, “One Damn Thing After Another,” Barr says he thinks Trump could’ve beaten Joe Biden in 2020 if he had “just exercised a modicum of self-restraint, moderating even a little of his pettiness,” according to the Wall Street Journal.
The conservative lawyer encouraged members of his party to consider “an impressive array of younger candidates” that he did not identify by name — who he believes shares Trump’s agenda but not his “erratic personal behavior,” the book says.
The former attorney general, who served from February 2019 to December 2020, wrote that the former president has “shown he has neither the temperament nor persuasive powers to provide the kind of positive leadership that is needed.”
Barr’s book hits shelves March 8 and comes as Trump hints at another presidential run in 2024.

The Attorney General isn’t supposed to be a politician, but this one sure was. Too bad he wasn’t up to enforcing the laws of the country, or upholding the U.S. Constitution, both of which he took an oath to protect and defend. Instead he chose to play politics, and is looked upon as just another loser. Go f*ck yourself Bill.

The election was stolen to ensconce a dementia-ridden potato with erratic personal behavior in The White House. Barr is a mental midget.

Moderating his (Trump’s) pettiness is how we got Barr as AG.
Even the black folks I know voted for Trump. And the Eastern European immigrants. (well, except for an East German liberal I know) And the Mexican Americans. And Cuban Americans. And Puerto Ricans that live on the mainland now. The only folks I know who voted for Biden are lunatic liberals and Beltway Rinos.
I think it’s going to be Mitt now. His “I Told You So” act on Russia has reinvorgated him. And he’s going to have all the Bushies behind him. He’s running in 2024. Hopefully he’ll do as well as Jeb.
Trumps BIGGEST mistake was trusting anything and anyone from the swamp. ESPECIALLY the Bush loyalists and Federalist Society. Just about everyone Trump trusted and nominated stabbed him in the back to protect the swamp.

Let’s go to the video tape. People at the time said that Bill Barr would be excellent for this gig, that Trump couldn’t find anybody better (h/t Rush Limbaugh.) And when it was all over and Barr resigned, conservative talkers were saying Barr was an excellent Attorney General, a real class-act (h/t Mark Levin.) If the “real conservatives” said he was a great pick, then ya’ll can’t criticize Trump after the fact.

The Republicans sold Mueller along with FOX News, don’t forget.
As soon as Mueller opened up his investigation, Goldberg, Baier, and Stephen Hayes shifted to having Mueller look at other Financial dealings that Trump had much earlier in his career. It’s was a classic setup.
They believed through Trump’s lawyer they would find corrupt deal after corrupt deal and payoffs for bids and inspections. Just didn’t work out.
