Hunting down an unhappy customer to fix an issue is good customer service.
Hunting down an unhappy customer to fix a review is probably illegal.
I’ve been a Prime member since 99.
Let’s be realistic, if you boycott everything damned on FR, you have to become Amish.
I will say that the days of Amazon consistently being the cheapest source are gone. I always cross check on eBay, Walmart, Rockauto, etc.
Well, somehow getting hold of your personal e-mail address even though Amazon does not provide it (kind of spooky ... what else did they find out about you?) and then harassing you until you withdraw your review isn’t what I’d call turning an unhappy customer into a happy one. There are better ways to satisfy a customer, although this does seem to work pretty well to get rid of all the bad reviews.
Shipping damage is an ever-present threat. I got something on Saturday that looked like they had dragged it around the parking lot. Stuff happens.
I've been surprised at how often Walmart beats the pants off of Amazon on some more expensive purchases I've had to make, like TVs. Definitely worth checking them.
I don’t want to speculate as to what a random member of the general public might think they are intended for.
You make choices in life, you want to buy from Commiezon and it is still an almost free country so, your choice.
Not Amish, just not doing business with Commiezon.
It is not very hard.
As Amazon has gained market share, they have definitely raised prices. I feel like I get a lot of value in Prime just from the music and streaming television stuff though.
Every major retailer in America has been recommended for boycott at one time or another on FR.
I used to keep a list, but it was a waste of time after it became pretty much universal.
If they arent paying I’m not reviewing.
I’ve experienced that as well. Too bad Amazon doesn’t have a way to address shipper/shipping issues so customers won’t take it out on the product.
I am signed up through various survey groups. I’ve been doing it for over 15 years. There are some companies like bzzagent and hometesterclub that do it on their own. Amazon does the amazon vine voice program. Don’t join anything promising these things that ask you for money to join their sites. That’s usually a red flag/scam.
Getting scam phone calls saying a $1000 purchase has been denied on my Amazon Prime card (never made it) and want me to press one or something to continue. Ah, nope.
Ping
One thing with Amazon that customers may not see but that definitely helps them are the returns. I don’t buy much and rarely need to return items but one in particular was so egregious that within days after returning it, the item was no longer available. There must have been a lot of us who returned it.
My son bought something on Amazon for me and about a month later received a hand written letter from the seller asking him to leave a review.
fakespot got booted off the Amazon apple app.

“Fakespot injects code into its website, opening up an attack vector and putting customer data (including email, addresses, credit card info, and your browser history) at risk”
I agree. It’s like some people are too stupid to use the product.
I think of those every time I see Haribos in stores.
