I will say that the days of Amazon consistently being the cheapest source are gone. I always cross check on eBay, Walmart, Rockauto, etc.

I've been surprised at how often Walmart beats the pants off of Amazon on some more expensive purchases I've had to make, like TVs. Definitely worth checking them.

As Amazon has gained market share, they have definitely raised prices. I feel like I get a lot of value in Prime just from the music and streaming television stuff though.
