Eric Adams leads NYC Democrat Primary by some thirty thousand votes...there is hope for NYC yet!!!
I think only Curtis Sliwa could help NYC. https://www.fox5ny.com/news/primary-day-2021-curtis-sliwa-wins-republican-mayoral-primary
He’s a rabid neo-racist. The city will continue it’s decline into a hopeless crime infested wasteland.
I wonder how much the questions of his residency will be used against him in the rest of the election.
He is possibly may no longer actually living in New York City, in spite of still be the elected Borough President of Brooklyn (a job created to hand out patronage and give a politico a position from which to further their political career into some real government executive job).
He owns a building in Brooklyn that he rents out to tenants, but he shares a co-op with a girl friend in Fort Lee New Jersey and is known to very often sleep nights at his office in Brooklyn (like he has no other place in Brooklyn to sleep???). See the “residency” and “personal” section in the Wiki report.

Back in the ’90s, Eric Adams, the Brooklyn borough president, was a brash New York City police officer whose public statements often seemed custom-made to incite controversy. He attacked Herman Badillo, the Puerto Rican-born former Bronx representative, for marrying a white Jewish woman rather than a Latina, and, during a failed congressional run, praised the antisemitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Later in the decade, Adams registered briefly as a Republican — a move he describes as an act of protest against the Democratic Party’s lackluster approach to crime. …The evolution of Eric Adams, 02/22/2021
Too early to call. Votes have to be retallied and redistributed.
Well, Trump had been a Dem and then became a Republican when he wanted to run for office. Sometimes you have to figure out the best way to get your message out...and get elected.
Nice deflection.
I was merely challenging the jist of your statement.
No deflection at all. I’m just pointing out that all politicians go for the place where they will be most electable. When Trump entered politics, he was not going to be electable by the Dems. They hated him, took the money he gave them for rebuilding, and spent the rest of the time trashing him and wouldn’t even officially rename the places he totally transformed at his cost to the benefit of NYers.
Bloomberg ran as an Independent, and he was okay except for his neo-fascist health-related tendencies, such as posting calorie counts at Starbucks and prohibiting smoking outdoors in the parks (ignored by the favored groups, as usual). He was an ex-fatty and ex-smoker, so we all had to work out his therapy. And he was very much on the side of the left, but not the left that would stop NYers from making a living.
So honestly, if you live there and Adams’ positions were good, I hope you voted for him. The problem is that with “ranked choice voting,” who knows if he won or if the election was actually won by a prairie dog in Wyoming or a voodoo figure in Haiti.
Totally nuts...they say the winner won’t be known for days?
He was a Republican but became a Democrat because Republicans have no chance of winning anything in NYC

Above is your statement (post #52) that I called a half truth.
Adams was a Democrat, backed Dinkins in 93, changed to Republican in 97 (to get NYPD captaincy[?]) and reverted back to Democrat in 01. He did NOT switch to the RATS just to get elected.
What others did means nothing to the history of Adams.
You might want to re-check your history of Bloomberg as well. He was a liberal RAT, switched to Republican to gain the mayoralty and then to Independent to do an end run around term limit.
Well, it sort of does. People who want to get into politics will change as needs be to the party they think will support them.
At this point NYC is totally Dem and no GOPer has the faintest chance, so if you’re a pol...what are you going to do?
