I would love a COVID-19 vaccine passport. After more than a year in full or partial quarantine, I’m so happy to be vaccinated I want to get the words “FULLY” and “VAXXED” tattooed on my butt and run naked through the streets. (Don’t worry, I won’t. America has suffered enough.)
Unfortunately … sorry, that’s a side effect of the Pfizer vaccine … unfortunately, vaccine pride is not as prevalent as it should be, and a sizable swath of the population prefers to poo-poo the one thing that can lead us out of a pandemic that has killed more than 550,000 Americans.
...
And on that point, we most definitely are not pulling together “as one people to a common goal.” A Monmouth University poll released April 14 found 43% of Republicans say they’re unlikely to get the vaccine. That contributes heavily to the 1 in 5 Americans overall who say they won’t get vaccinated.
....The hesitant-to-get-vaccinated are also up in arms over the idea of a vaccine passport, I guess because of “tyranny” or some other incorrect but scary sounding word... but the vaccine-wary could keep us from reaching herd immunity and increase the risk of weird, dangerous COVID-19 mutations. Without enough vaccinations, we can’t breathe easy and swim out of the undertow of stress that sucked us down more than a year ago.
The good news is I have a plan that should appeal to folks fearful of a vaccine or vaccine passports...So instead of providing vaccine passports to people who get the Pfizer or Moderna or Johnson & Johnson shots, let’s just issue mandatory “I’M SELFISH!” T-shirts to those who refuse.

Why not just yellow stars?
There are lots of good reasons to not be vaccinated.
I’m starting to think the objective of the elites is to get all of us vaccinated, so that herd immunity will mean that THEY will not need to get vaccinated.
Selfish?
Like \requiring\ someone else to protect your health?
Even if you don’t know them or are aware of their health condition?
We see the height of selfish arrogance in those that call us selfish.
Rex Huppke? The resident communist at the Chicago Tribune? What a waste of space.
Again, if someone got the shot, how is my not getting it selfish since they are protected by their shot, right?
Actually Rex, you are the one acting selfish with wanting your travel, dining, etc. to resume at the expense of an experimental shot.
I’m Spartacus.
I’m not interested in a cytokine storm.
The Left so loves coercion and force. They breathe tyranny like air.
Rex...what a rex.

Are these people crazy? Getting vaccinated has become the same as playing Russian Roulette.
If the “vaccine” works, they don’t need to worry if I don’t get it.
"let’s just issue mandatory “I’M SELFISH!” T-shirts to those who refuse"
All said without a shred of irony.
My Body, My Choice - that should go without saying by now, for everyone. Caitlyn Jenner, call your office.
i’m not an anti-vaxxer...
i’m a nonbeliever...
Michael Crichton had a book where cytokine storms were an important part of the story. I think it was Next...
In a rational society, when the individual has primacy over the collective, and life is the standard of value, rational selfishness is the individual's concern for his own life and well being.
