Wow. No way that group of jurors went into this in an impartial manner. I cannot believe the defense attorney didn’t contest most of these people. Come to think of it, the rest of the jury pool might have been worse.

I am not going to re-litigate this. The officer was wrong, guilty and arguing the small print won’t change that. There are bad cops out there—intentionally or bad training or whatever—and they need to be gone so that good cops are again respected.

Don’t get me wrong, I watch very little TV. But, in big national moments like this - where the literal fate of cities could potentially be in question - it would be nice if there were a competent TV news station to turn on. There isn’t.

Yep. My kid brother was a paramedic in Miami for years.
They’ve been shot at, verbally/physically harassed, had their vehicle set on fire...you name it. He finally gave it up and moved to the woods, far, far away from any large urban area.
He has since armed himself up to the teeth.
I’ve found wise not to ask his opinion on these kinds of matters.
