A just-released mugshot of Kim Potter — the former Minnesota cop who fatally shot Daunte Wright after mistaking her gun for her Taser — shows the 26-year veteran looking bare-faced and solemn.
Potter is cooling her heels Wednesday at the Hennepin County Jail, where she’s being held without bail pending second-degree manslaughter charges in the death of Wright.

If you get on one of these and don’t convict, don’t expect to have much if any of a life after. That’s how it’s gotten.
I’d convict her for sure in this case unless the defense comes up with a total miracle.
You are Daunte.
The police have you.
Do you go quietly or break for your car?
Do you follow the law or ignore the law?
Who killed Ashli?
Why be a cop anymore? Except if you are the unknown murderer of Ashli Babbet!
George Floyd, among others, was on parole. He should have known that hanging out with drug dealers, doing drugs, and passing bad bills would send him back to prison.
The black, racist-tweeting, BLM-supporter immigrant who shot Ashli Babbet will not be charged at all. Wrong race of the cop, wrong race of the victim.
JustUs Department is in charge in Washington.
If that’s the bar he wants the defense to find reasonable doubt for, so be it.
“This was no accident,” the statement said. “This was an intentional, deliberate, and unlawful use of force.”
-Wright family attorney Ben Crump
Let the tainting of the jury pool begin!
He should have known that hanging out with drug dealers, doing drugs, and passing bad bills would send him back to prison.

Or worse!
Karma killed her.
Busting out windows and climbing through them angers the Karma gods.
If she busted out your window tonight and started climbing through it,
would you get a cookie and some ice cream for her?
I know a city cop. Very nice guy. He and the wife are preparing a move to Idaho.
Dang, you’re on fire lately. I dunno if to congratulate or run.
Full 2A rights, good pay and giant retirement benefits (3% at age 50) are the reasons I can see.

Scumbag is right.
The authorities have given these folks so much rope, they’ve
got plenty enough to hang all of us with it.
This is unquestionably a fatal error, but the idea she
intended to kill this guy doesn’t pass the sniff test.
I’ve seen former officers talk about just hitting the target
under pressure situations. Under pressure, their mind didn’t
always work as efficiently as they had hoped for.
I think that dynamic was in play here.
I can’t imagine picking the gun rather than the taser, but
I’m not convinced it couldn’t happen.
For all the talk of what officers should or shouldn’t do
in these situations, I don’t see/hear any talk about what
suspects could do to contribute to their own safety.
They own part of the responsibility for their own death,
but not the media, the families, or BLM types pick up
on the idea that compliance is the best chance of
survival.
Too bad really...
And in DC, the officer who shot an unarmed, civilian that had no warrants ... remains unnamed, and stil on the job.
He didn't run.
He jumped back into his car.
Was he going for a gun?
There are lots of places to hide a gun in a car.
It's a life or death decision.
You have one second.
Also, it appears there was a warrant out for his arrest for 1st Deg Armed Robbery. I was pretty upset with the shooting when I bought the media lie that he was a poor back child pulled over for hanging an air freshener from his rear view mirror. He had an arrest warrent out for violent crime with a gun and when the cops went to take him in he resisted arrest, assaulted police officers and may have been getting into the car to get a gun. IMHO, this shooting was justified.
