Fake COVID vaccination cards are spreading like a virus online

A black market in fake vaccination record cards is reaching epidemic proportions online.

Fraudsters have been hawking knock-offs of the three-by-four-inch cards on retail sites including eBay, Etsy and Shopify, as well as on the social media sites Facebook and TikTok, the New York Times reported this week.

The Post, meanwhile, has found dozens of online DIY guides for printing fake vaccination cards at home.

The counterfeiting has ballooned in recent weeks following news that an official vaccination card could soon become a central requirement to travel on airplanes and attend events.

And sellers and buyer are breaking federal law by falsifying vaccine documents and fraudulently reproducing the Center Centers for Disease Control and Prevention logo, which is featured on every card’s upper right hand corner.

In warning that counterfeiters risk prosecution, the Federal Bureau of Investigation advises, “if you did not receive the vaccine, do not buy fake vaccine cards, do not make your own vaccine cards, and do not fill-in blank vaccination record cards with false information.”

The FBI put out a statement that they would investigate vaccine card forgeries. The FBI is the world's preeminent crime-creating agency. They'll come up with something.

There are zero security features on the CDC card. I don't understand why anyone would pay money for something that can be printed off the internet for free. (Or maybe I do.)

No this will push the government to lock down the card with a blockchain level security where as if people would have just left it alone the paper cards would have been used. Bank on QR coded card very soon the state when they administer the vaccines must collect identity data in Texas they scanned both sides of the DL so the info is already recorded. For every action there is always a reaction and the government has the full weight of laws they make and enforce and unlimited funds they steal and print to think some plebs with printers in their basements will win in a battle with the federal government is loony toons. EUA = Emergency Use Authorization — that they wouldn’t give for HCQ and Ivermectin or any other therapeutic because there is no money to be made on those meds. FedGov can’t get kickbacks and campaign donations from Big Pharma on cheap drugs.

I know I was thinking the same thing. What we have been fed have been “guidelines” from an organization (CDC) which owns the patents to the viruses they created so they can make hand over fist money. Guidelines are not promulgated law. So a fake card to go along with a fake pandemic is equal to handing over Monopoly money to people who want us to think the game is real.

Manufacturing bogus vaccination cards seems like a nice cottage industry. I have my real card, but no Gestapo has yet asked to see my papers. I think if I were charged with "carding" everyone, and someone showed me a well-made fake that looked like my real one, I would accept it as genuine.

Let's preempt that by 1. Planning to avoid "carding" anyone, and 2. Planning to leave people alone.

I’m pretty sure there will be an official document (other than the card you get when you get vaccinated) in pretty short order.

The VAMS database is pretty extensive.
