Mike Pence Breaks His Silence on Election

Too little too late… we don’t want to hear it…
Former Vice President Pence on Wednesday criticized the 2020 election in his his first extended written comments since leaving office in January.
Pence said there were “significant voting irregularities” and “numerous instances of officials setting aside state election law” in the 2020 presidential election.
The remarks were offered by Pence in an op-ed published by the Daily Signal, a publication run by the conservative Heritage Foundation. The context was an attack on H.R. 1, a voting rights bill the House is expected to pass on Wednesday, that Pence said would “increase opportunities for election fraud.”
" “Many of the most troubling voting irregularities took place in states that set aside laws enacted by state legislatures in favor of sweeping changes ordered by governors, secretaries of state, and courts.”“While legislators in many states have begun work on election reform to restore public confidence in state elections, unfortunately, congressional Democrats have chosen to sweep those valid concerns and reforms aside and to push forward a brazen attempt to nationalize elections in blatant disregard of the U.S. Constitution.”
LOL. Great post. I’m stealing that.
He could have tried but you have to be a fool to think he could have gotten away with it.
The public is the ultimate arbiter, and Biden would not have gotten away with it.
I think Pence would have opened up a firestorm, but that is precisely what this nation needed at that juncture in history.
I agree with you. Between covid fascism and election fraud, Pence has proved himself to be enemy of the Republic.
And a surprising number of freepers on this thread forget that though you can vote your way into socialism, you have to shoot your way out.
That is correct, but as you and Pence well know that was not the issue faced by the presiding officer.
Your post is filled with correct but irrelevant information designed to support your incorrect money quote:
Mike Pence had one option per the US Constitution: count the electoral votes submitted by the individual states.
The presiding officer of the Joint Session does not "count" the votes, he announces the votes and Congress accepts or challenges the votes.
Pence was not at all obligated to announce something he knew or had reason to know was unlawful. As presiding officer, he certainly had an implied obligation in the face of an enormous amount of breaking and compelling evidence to ask the states to confirm their certificates.
It was beyond coincidence, of course, that the DS arranged to open the doors for the purposes of providing timely hysterics.
His moral duty was to uphold the Constitution and he did exactly what the Constitution said he should do.
Just. Stop.
Maybe I got my generals wrong. Was it him or general Flynn who was obviously targeted and set up for punishment by process?
I must chime in,
Ding Dong Pence.
You can rationalize his actions any way you want. He still legitimized a fraudulent election. Therefore he remains a backstabbing ass.
Too late traitor. Good luck in your treason trial.
You are on the money with your analysis
He should have refused to do it—resigned if necessary.
_That_ was his _moral_ duty.
The Nuremberg defense will _not_ cut it....

Well stated.
So Mikey boy was happy to certify the results but had an epiphany that they were fraudulent? *Former* Vice President Mike Pence is just another politician who wants to have his cake and eat it too. Too bad. You can win the GOPe voters or the Trump voters but not both at once.
Flynn, was supposed to be National Security Advisor but Brennan the the Deep State wanted him deep-sixed.
Kelly was the Chief of Staff that screwed up Trump first few years.
p
Stop trying to confuse us idiots with the facts.
Trump was President.......he had the POWER to declare Marshall law. Not Pence.....
Pence, POUND SALT.
Classic Nuremberg defense.
The Constitution is not a suicide pact—or a justification for standing silent in the face of massive election fraud.
Moral acts require moral courage—normalcy bias does not cut it.
