A British group that comes to mind is the trio known and "Swing Out Sister". One of my favorites from this band is a song called 'Twilight World".
How's everyone doing this morning?
“gods of war” by def leppard...
one of their first songs recorded after rick allen (drummer) ripped his left arm off in a rollover car wreck...
Looking through my Billboard Top 40’s book (1955-2000), I found two great MTV video songs from England:
Fine Young Cannibals - “She Drives Me Crazy”, No. 1, 1989
Escape Club - “ Wild, Wild West”, #1, 1988.
Didn’t Donovan do “Season of the Witch”? A very interesting song that was used in a movie at the end where a woman is skating on a pond to it.
Bee Gees (Born in England, Moved to Australia in 1958) - Just saw a show on Md. Public TV show on them, one of their shows in Australia. Many great songs recorded in both countries, including:
* To Love Somebody
* Lonely Days
* JIVE TALKIN’
* Nights on Broadway
* How Deep is Your Love
* STAYIN’ ALIVE - Long live DISCO!!!
* NIGHT FEVER
*
* Edison Lighthouse - “Love Grows Where my Rosemary Goes”, #5, 1970, one hit wonder group but the lead singer Tony Burrows was also in “The Brotherhood of Man” - “United We Stand; and “White Plains” - “My Baby Loves Lovin’”, #13, 1970. all essential “one hit wonders” but really lovely and catchy songs
and lastly,
* CLiff Richard - “Devil Woman”, #6, 1976
Maybe we should do a song search for singers/groups from Scotland and Canada. Lots of great songs and talent from those places.

If I had to listen to only one singer/band for the rest of my life it would have to be Duran Duran. I also would have to include Arcadia’s So Red the Rose album when they split up briefly.
I love their more well known songs but also the ones that didn’t get the air play they deserved.
Night Boat
New Moon on Monday
Do You Believe in Shame?
Lonely in Your Nightmare
I don’t Want Your Love

It sure ain’t “God Save The Queen”!
I am also not going to post anything by Van Morrison, since he is from Belfast, he would be offended to be considered English. Ditto for Rod Stewart (He is Scottish) BTW: "Irish Songs" might be a good idea for future!.
I was originally going to post a song by Long John Baldry, but that was taken by someone else with exceedingly good taste.
;)
So here goes:
The name may not be familiar, but he was the keyboard player for the Animals.
