No, I did not know all that before. Interesting!
One of the reasons I’ve always loved that song (Jennifer) is because it was one of very few Top 40 popular music songs to use Oboes and I think Clarinets in it’s chorus.

Some of Elton John’s early work caught my ear as well.
“Your Song” background musicians made great use of a Harp.
