There’s plenty of things to find fault with Cruz, but this seems overblown.
We need to get a lot smarter—and Ted does not seem up to the task.
Trips to Cancun aren’t done on the spur of the moment - I’d assume his wife and kids have been planning and anticipating this trip for a while now. Probably wouldn’t have been easy to cancel at the last minute due to freak weather conditions, but I agree - it’s a bad look.
It’s the Daily Mail, so, they would find fault with anything Cruz or any republican does.
Doesn’t look good as the rats do it all the time an pay no real price. He should do something about his paunch.
British tabloids shouldn’t be allowed here. I can read them at the super market if I want to.
Cruz, has done nothing wrong here....except create an optic that can and has now been exploited by the MSM and the opposition.

It shows that he is “tone deaf”. Not a good look for him but all Senators think they are better than everyone else.

Even if there had not been the storm, this would have been bad optics. *Very* bad optics - his opponents could and would use it against him in the next election - “Ted Cruz is jetting off in the middle of a pandemic!”
Cruz has some real problems with his optics.

Of course it’s going to be overblown, specially if it’s a republican, but if it’s true, it definitely fits with how privileged and self serving career politicians usually are. Kinda reminds me of Chris Christie taking a family beach outing during the early lock downs.
I’m sorry that the one and only time I practiced forgiveness over my usual desire for revenge is over the Ted Cruz travesty at the convention. I much later thought Cruz could be a passable President.
Nobody’s perfect but I’m piling up anti-Cruz anecdotes. How can the Dems have hundreds of replaceable Leftist robots but we can’t muster one group of 5 good reliable Constitution loving conservatives without saying “uh, give me a little more time.”?
