Biden and his coalition doesn’t give a wet crap about Texas,
Cruze was elected by Texas to represent their interests in Washington. In a disaster he skipped town.
Biden is acting in his and his coalitions best interest. The longer the mess continues in Texas, the more likely it will be a swing state or blue by 2022 and 24.
Beto was on the phone with his crew calling and checking on potential voters. Was he able to do much? No but that wasn’t the point.
Cruze’s job was to represent the interests of Texas. He went on vacation. In every job I have held as an adult, I have had to cancel plans and even vacations because of projects. I have fired and am in the process of firing someone who feels that their personal problems are more important than working.
This was a massive bonehead move, and in the private sector he would be looking for a job right now. If a politician as smart as Cruze is supposed to be couldn’t understand how it is important to give the perception of supporting his core base during a time of crisis over jetting off to Cancuun, then I hope he has some money socked away.
