Ted Cruz has been pictured jetting off to Cancun while millions in Texas remain without power, heat or water amid a devastating winter storm.

So glad I campaigned against FR backing this candidate in 2016 (in favor of Trump). Cruz has many admirable qualities, but then there are things like this.
You do know that the sell generators and they even have portable indoor approved propane heaters that are around $100-$140 and propane stores very well and easily. You can run a bath tub full of water and use a bucket to flush the toilet. Canned food heated or cooked on a propane camp stove is not so bad either.
There was warning that this storm was coming and there was time to prepare. People who did not are stupid.
Mother nature will bite you in the ass if you are not ready for what she can toss your way.
Everything I talked about above except for a generator, a big boy propane heater + hoses for bulk propane tanks, a small propane camp stove, canned food, and a couple 7.5 pound tanks of propane can be had and on hand for well under $500.
Or, you can freeze your asses off.
We have always lived out in the sticks far from any and all cities. We have been snowed in and with out commercial for several weeks at a time. We have lived off the grid and still managed to have all the comforts of a big modern home.
I have zero sympathy for those who do not have the basic needs covered for at least short term emergencies.

There is nothing Cruz can do to help. The U.S. Senate has no connection or responsibility for energy production and distribution in the state of Texas. Texas is completely independent when it comes to energy.
The fact that someone can’t do anything does not improve the image of someone abandoning the group.

To start with there was warning that this bad storm was going to hit several days before it did. For those who did not prepare I have zero sympathy.
Why did not people prepare for this mother nature event? It seems Texas is long on stupidity and there are a lot of texans trying to blame that stupidity on others.
So where are they all going to end up and what is it going to cost them?

I’m from cold and snow country. We have hot summers, over a hundred, and many nights in the teens in the winter. It is snowing right now and 28 degrees. It will be low 20’s or high teens by midnight and will be down to zero two nights from now.
If the commercial power goes out even my TV reception and my internet will be back up and running within 10 minutes.
And I always thought that Texans were big bad and tough and could take care of themselves.
