Give me a break. Anyone that can would leave their situation. I am certain this was planned long before the grid shutdown. Hell, I took a day off today planned weeks ago and I’m treated like I’m walking away from the difficulties associated with this mess. But, I refuse to vacation in Mexico. I consider that a poor choice.

People who get upset when others try to live their lives because there is a crisis going on are virtue-signalling creeps.

What in the hell is a legislator at the federal level going to do to get the power to go on ASAP? He's not a mechanic, engineer or lineman that can actually fix the problem. Any help that Ted Cruz and the federal government could offer is months away.

Senator Ted Cruz should hold a press conference from Cancun and say that he's in Mexico because it's not run by a crooked watermelon marxists, just plain old crooks. Cruz should go on to say that it is his mission to end the global warming scam and keep the lights on and the furnaces lit.

Just another attempt to create class hate. Bet the goobernor had heat. And half the man-gods did in Texas. Maybe they ought to start questioning why Oblahblah shut down utility plants in Texas? Now you know why...

We have had power outages due to ice here, but that’s why I have a generator.

Nancy eating high dollar ice cream kept in a multi-thousand refrigerator in our faces while we were losing jobs in the pandemic just doesn’t rate as major news.

This is a non-story designed to create a leftist narrative.

I know it’s only February. But this article will probably win the 2021 award for the most insanely slanted wording.

Cruz Flees! Outrage! He’s shameless! Desperate Texans in their powerless homes!

We looked at going to Vegas. I can’t blame Ted for this.

I do blame Bidet for not doing a tour. If Trump had sat in Camp David playing Mario Cart with the grand kids during an event like this, he’d have been impeached a third time.

Cruz has some real problems with his optics.

True.

Worst was the Trump convention "so long, suckers, no endorsements from me, pals".

I admit honestly I don't like beards on men. (Alright, throw rocks at me).

Before Cruz is the GOP or third party Presidential nominee and before Don,Jr. is the US Senate nominee, shave those beards off, please. My two cents.

Somehow he could muster the energy to hand out soccer balls and teddy bears to illegals, even though Ted and his Federal government can’t help anybody right away.

So? What is he taking advantage of? Is he denying others from doing the same?

“From the “vote your conscience” statement at the convention to this, Ted Cruz often seem politically brain dead.”

He gets hit by a lot of cheap shots, but yea, he is CLEARLY an idiot and will almost certainly be out of politics after his term ends in 2024.

Going after Trump for responding to Cruz’s hit piece nearly cost him his seat and helped make Trump’s term a mess (by making the election so close).

Well, he's a politician isn't he? Which makes perfect sense that he'd flee ... politicians of any stripe, right or left or center or whatever, don't have to abide by any civility or decency ...

So, just call me cynical, I'm proud of the term.

/cynicism off

The wife and kids can stay warm and comfy in Cancun—Ted needs to show support for Texans—in Texas.

“I’m sorry that the one and only time I practiced forgiveness over my usual desire for revenge is over the Ted Cruz travesty at the convention. I much later thought Cruz could be a passable President...Nobody’s perfect but I’m piling up anti-Cruz anecdotes.”

Join the club - hopefully he’s primaried out in 2024, rather than handing the seat over to the Dems.

I have no issue with anyone taking a vacation.

Mexico is not a safe place for one, so I can’t say Cruz is even taking an easy or good way out.

Ted, stay safe and don’t worry about stupid people back here stretching to embarrass you.

The finance minister of the province of Ontario did this and was forced to resign late last year.

Ontario Finance Minister Rod Phillips has resigned after returning from a controversial Caribbean vacation while the province is under strict lockdown measures that discourage non-essential travel, Premier Doug Ford announced Thursday.

Earlier Thursday morning, upon arrival at Toronto Pearson Airport, Phillips said he would like to keep his job but would respect Ford’s decision following what the premier said would be a “very tough conversation” between the two.

“Today, following my conversation with Rod Phillips, I have accepted his resignation as Ontario’s minister of finance,” Ford said in a statement.

“At a time when the people of Ontario have sacrificed so much, today’s resignation is a demonstration that our government takes seriously our obligation to hold ourselves to a higher standard.”
