Biden Starting Commission to Ponder Supreme Court Reform

Democrats have talked about packing the Supreme Court and seeking to end lifetime appointments of justices. Now a new commission under the Biden administration will be looking at the subject of court reforms. Indeed, President Joe Biden's White House is staffing the panel, which will examine reforms to the nation's top court and the federal judiciary, Politico reported. "The president remains committed to an expert study of the role and debate over reform of the court and will have more to say in the coming weeks," a White House official said in a statement.

does she check to see that I've only deposited around $1,000 every Friday and THIS time I've tried to deposit $3,000?

Well now imagine that someone writes her a letter saying "Dear Madam Bank Teller, please be advised that Elsie broke into my home yesterday and stole $2,000 in unmarked $10-dollar bills. Before she cold-cocked me with her pink-handled pistol, she said she would be depositing the money on Friday at your bank and after that point, nobody would ever be able to get my money back. I phoned the police but they said they would not be able to investigate a crime of this low magnitude."

Now the bank teller has a role to play, no?

Unfortunately there are some that insist the Constitution is a suicide pact, that Pence “had no choice”.

Seems as though there SHOULD be a few steps in between the PROVEN abuses and the vote counting.

There should have been, and there have been. It is up to Congress, and its presiding officer, the Vice President, to determine if those steps have been satisfactory.

So Pence, for example, would have been perfectly within his constitutional right to say that "as fraud has not been proven, I will accept the certificates". Or something of that sort. But instead he said, "I have no power", which is the usual pious Republican fib that everyone sees through.

Judges follow rules and procedures--something that many conspiracy theorists wouldn't understand

Yes they do when they want to avoid something, not so much when they wanted to thwart the President, as they frequently did. If they always followed the process they wouldn’t judge shop like they do.

You cannot be the good Constitutionalist that you are, a good Originalist elsewhere in prior threads, where you hew to the word of the Constitution, then complain about the absence of any enabling Constitutional language that would have permitted Pence to act in your prescribed manner. What you wanted Pence to do was "Living Document" errant libtard constructionalism, and you know it.

None of those events happened in my lifetime.

So true; but I'll bet that most FReepers know the statement about NOT learning from history...

Good point!

I’d suspect she’d announce to the chief teller what strange events are being reported and have HER check into it.

I can only hope that the ‘Plan’ is to abandon the skirmish; but to regroup and eventually win the WAR!

We would have liked to have heard:

What you are saying: “You MUST certify fraud, otherwise you don’t believe in the constitution!”
It’s not a suicide pact.

“one-sided persecutions”

I heard today that the officer who perished after the 1/6 incident will now lie in state. This is after a year of ACAB, and “Fry ‘em like bacon” and “What do we want? DEAD COPS”. Not to make light of the guy’s demise, but from what what little that has been reported it seems he had a medical condition and had no business being in harms way like that. I also heard he was a Trump supporter and he would not want this to be politicized.

The whole 1/6 “death count” is disgusting. A heart attack. A stroke. A fatal asthma attack. That sounds like the death toll during an NFL game. And then we have the poor woman and this officer. Now they want to tack on 2 police suicides that have occurred since. Really? How about suicides after antifa riots? Are they part of the antifa death toll? I suppose no, those were peaceful deaths.

“judges rule on cases based on political preference”

As it has been for a century, at least.

“it is going to take a Constitutional Amendment to limit the terms of judges”

Only if you could find a judge willing to rule that is the case, if a challenge comes before him. Though, since this affects them personally, they might be able to summon up the courage.

Well, odds say we would not have gotten too many of them, since the Marxist’s would have tried to make the boys into girls and the girls into whatever! They would have brainwashed them for at least 12 years of schooling and then 4 more in college. Poor kids would not stand much of a chance. Stinking parents today ship their kids off to the government indoctrination centers for brain washing and don’t ask one damned question about what is going on at school. Barely 10% go to a PTA meeting. We used to go when our kids were in school and there were more teachers there than parents. That is when you can scream at them in mass, but how do you do that when you are not there???? Poor kids would probably been 75 to 80% liberals. The home schoolers would be the best chance to be Christian, conservative, support Patriots and the cops and the military.

Well, Justices should have some kind of term limit, but so should everyone else.

President - 2x four years = 8
Senators - 2x six years = 12
House Reps - 3x two years = 6

Judges - 1x 24years is a good combo of these.
