Shock poll: Trump 'Patriot Party' would win almost quarter of voters, drop GOP to third place
Just the News ^ | January 25,2021 | By Daniel Wattenberg

A Trump third party could provoke a pivotal realignment in American politics. With the support of 46% of registered voters in the new poll, Democrats would reap the benefits of a fractured opposition and entrench themselves as the nation's dominant party — even without majority support.

Among "very conservative" voters — who make up a disproportionately large bloc within the Republican primary electorate — a Trump Patriot Party crushes the GOP 55%-24%.

Should Trump remain in the GOP, his wide lead among these highly motivated voters affords him great leverage to influence the direction of the party by wielding the threat of conservative primary challenges against establishment Republicans ill at ease with the former president's combative brew of conservatism infused with populism and nationalism.

The poster is a total newbie. Probably doesn’t realize this is a conservative site, not a Romney-McCain GOPe forum. People will see soon enough if Trump goes through with it that the GOP will be the third party in our two-party system, not the Patriot Party.

It would turn out as well as the last election.

I agree; fixed voting is something we have to account for...how much and how to fix are still questionable. More and more Dems would sign on after Biden remorse (coming soon), temporary Indys like me who just left the Rep party after 46 years, and probably many conservative R’s who will be totally disgusted at that point.

Taking over the GOP, with a coherent, long term, plan to take out key RINOs and/or significantly diminish their influence is NOT doing the same thing over and over. To the best of my knowledge (and I have followed politics very closely since the mid-’70s) conservatives have NEVER done anything like this. Oh, individuals here and there have suggested it, but it’s never been done for the very simple reason that no one influential enough, with enough drive and intelligence, has been motivated to do this.

Only a driven, results-oriented, long-term focused, individual could do this, preferably someone who simply doesn’t give a damn what others think of him. Know of anyone like that? I have a guy in mind, and if anyone could do that, it is the guy who ran a real estate and media empire for 45 years, and was highly successful despite fearsome competition in both fields, and who literally thinks about how to best his opponents while they’re sleeping, because he only needs 4 hours/night (just like Napoleon Bonaparte).

A realistic plan to take over the GOP from the RINOs isn’t the same old, same old - it is brand, spanking new.

You appear to be making the other side’s argument actually. The only reason the Patriot Party might actually work to replace the GOP is precisely because the vast majority of Republican voters support President Trump, which is why a huge percentage of GOP voters are totally fed up with the GOP establishment backstabbing Trump and their own voters.

Although the Patriot Party might stand a better chance of winning over more working class, minorities, and anti-establishment types, for the most part the electorate will be the same. The main point of a new party would be a replacement of the party leadership and their priorities, allowing the base to have a party establishment that actually represents them. If the average Republican voter didn’t support Trump, then there would be no point in even discussing a new party, as a new party would have to prove that it is more successful than the obsolete GOP very quickly in elections to be worthwhile.

Non-leftist alternatives to online services and “news” media will be needed, as is better vetting of movers and shakers to operate organizations.

Oh, and a bunch of our enemies are going to have to kill each other, since we’re law-abiding. Without removal of the criminal underclass from the wheels of power, ya got bupkis.

I would go with this party if Trump was the leader...

If it’s another ‘Tea Party’ disaster where random people are running to the head of a parade (often for their own selfish reasons and NOT the reasons citizens backed the original concepts) then I’m out.

Let’s do it right. If Trump wants a MAGA party - we’re in...otherwise we stay with the GOP.

Yep, it’s the only way to get the GOP back in line. They’ll be a minor party and will need patriot Party backing to win. Meaning, they will have to be real Conservative Republicans. Otherwise the Dem will win.

I will not vote for a Democrat. Revenge by suicide doesn't win the prize.

Wise thoughts.

The GOP is a sad joke. It was not long ago when the GOP and their followers supported an open border globalist, who's daddy was a deep state spook. And they supported this stooge not one but TWO terms, giving him enough time to loot the America treasure of 3.2 trillion dollars for his 10 year long "Compassionate war" while killing thousands of us.

And these same Bush supporters questioned if Trump was "Conservative" enough!

It's WAY past time to ditch that party. It's a con-job,

Thank you. I saw that and thought “where did I miss that?”

I was pretty sure it was nothing but a “movement” as opposed to real “party”.

Good for you.

As I stated elsewhere, this is NOT the time for entertaining a 3rd party. The commie Dems are in full control and with COVID and BLM riots in full gear, they’re ready to unleash their communist agenda full force.

There is no time to generate enthusiasm for a 3rd party.

And Trump is not as popular as the EverTrumpers wish. He got votes but not all are rabid fanatics.

Wrong. It is the perfect time for third party. A new party of patriots and nationalists. Policy that helps workers and ALL Americans prosper. We will NEVER get that from the GOP,never. In the end you vote for policy and the GOP is only capable of delivering more globalism.

We hold the Trump card. The GOPe must change or die. Is it any wonder why the Senate Reps are backing away from voting to convict?

Can we all take a breathe and realize the GOP lost power because of cheating. Were some GOP leaders complicit? That’s the real question. Instead of leaving the party lets clean it out.

No. The point is we are right now actually on the verge of all-out fascism and implementing all they want. They’ve been pushing this all year.

We are at the tipping point. A 3rd party should’ve come alot earlier when interest could build.

It will ONLY split the vote and guarantee the fascists are fully in control.

I have never been so scared of what will happen as in, End of Republic. Up with “1984”.

Well the way it is right now, the Marxist’s are the dominate party anyway since our side hates the RINO party.
