A usually reliable source informs me that the Walmarts in the area are doing land office business. Something like 50% more than normal, with one store having over double expected.
I don't know of any specific news that would drive this, perhaps the smelly Walmart shoppers are prepping for a long Dark Winter?

Same here. Publix prices are outrageous - they’re good for BOGOs only. It’s Walmart or Aldi for everything else. Costco for certain bulk items.

Local safeway was pretty picked through for a Saturday morning. Meat section especially. Pasta section was emptish - lots of shelf space.
There were gaps in the bottle booze cabinet where there would not normally be.

I never signed up for that program. I usually just buy books from there. Our Books COST a Million around here changed to another name and it is just a junk store of worthless crap toys and gadgets now and few books. So, I just get them off Amazon. That is about all I buy off that site, nothing else. I don’t want to give Buttboze or whatever his crappy name is, any more money.
