... Smells like another Jussie Smollet race hoax.

Dead is dead, not a Smollet issue, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Physicians and Nurses are a generally pretty tough bunch,
and usually do not shout wolf at a mirage

I say BS. Whatever flaws our healthcare system has, racism is not one of them.

Indianapolis is a major city, with a large black population. Hospitals are complex organizations. They require a large staff of skilled workers from all races and backgrounds. It would be impossible to be racist in that environment.

Given the history of race lies and hoaxes, I do not believe she got inferior treatment due to racism. She wanted narcotics, and received them. Was she a practicing physician? I have trouble believing a doctor would receive sub-standard care. Was she streaming video from her hospital bed, while crying racism? What would a hospital in those circumstances? Photography is banned in the patient wards of our local hospital here in PA (excluding for medical uses).

I worked for 25 years at one of the world's most famous hospitals.I know a thing or two about the world of medicine. It seems distinctly possible to me that this woman had an incompetent doctor...such doctors do exist everywhere.Another possibility is that her presentation was atypical enough to throw even a competent doctor off the scent. But one thing I can guarantee....that her fate had nothing to do with racism.

I'd wager that this woman either had serious psych problems to begin with...or that she was a professional victim...or that her mental state was compromised by whatever disease process that was involved in her demise.

The only questions remaining are 1) for how much will the family's filthy lawyers be able to shake the hospital down? 2) will Biden's AG (assuming he's allowed to steal the election) file some kind of civil rights charge against the doctor?

Evidently "her" pronoun is "they".

It is - I live in Indianapolis and my aunt, who’s white, had COVID was denied admittance 4 times with similar symptoms after 4 ER visits and her personal physician agreed with THEIR assessment. It wasn’t until my uncle got his doctor involved that she got admitted.

To keep the ICU levels down they’re only admitting patients who they considered to be absolutely at deaths door which this woman, who could make a video rant, obviously wasn’t at the time.

But then this has made the rounds of the usual race baiters here locally and if you look at Reddit’s Indiana forum you’ll see the leftists crawl out of the woodwork complaining of the systemic racism at this hospital (which is in an affluent part of town) but not at any of the hospitals in the non affluent part of town!

We’ve had thousands of deaths due to COVID in the city this year but the press has seen fit to only write “color” stories about minority deaths because that furthers the narrative.

She was fat. That is the reason right there, not the color of her skin.

Only because that was used in the story?

More and more woke journalists use that instead of making any presumptions.

I was Vit.D deficient about 8 years ago. I’m a natural redhead with light Scottish skin and have had issues with skin cancer so I avoid too much sun. That’s hard to do living in the South. I have been mostly confined to the house since I hurt my foot two years ago and nobody seems to be able to fix it. My doctor gave me a huge prescription dose of Vit.D 8 years ago and put me on a maintenance dose of 1000iu a day. I also get it in my multivitamin. I increased my dosage when COVID started to 2000-4000iu a day. I also take Quercetin/Zinc and C daily. So far so good.

Correlation is not causation. Anyone who is educated should know this. Is it possible that colleges with their many varieties of grievance studies majors not teaching that anymore?

From the very beginning of this pandemic, our government should have put out statistics about exactly which comorbidities lead to a need for hospitalization, intubation and death. That they have not wanted to do this is so dishonest. People should know that, if they are obese, how much greater is their chance of a bad outcome if they catch Covid. People can do something about obesity. Perhaps they would have, if they had been faced with how much of an increase in risk there is because of it. People cannot do anything about something like a brain tumor, but they can about obesity.

I listened to an interview with Thomas Sowell. He discussed the problems that face a country when people who live with personal responsibility are forced to have their money to pay for people who do not live with personal responsibility.

Yep, she was morbidly obese and it goes without saying that obesity gives rise to many underlying health conditions (diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc) which makes the individual far more susceptible to illness (colds, flu, pneumonia, and COVID-19).

Also, would like to know what kind of “doctor” she was. Was she an MD or a PhD Ed like Jill Biden?

From another article:

>>“And that nurse was telling me, ‘Oh, I was marching in Black Lives Matter,’” Moore said. “I told her, ‘No, I don’t believe none of that. Not one bit. Not one iota. You wouldn’t even know how to march. Probably can’t even spell it.’”

Yea, I am sure doctors and nurses love being insulted and called liars and racists at every turn - gee, that wouldn’t affect the care would it? Just like you don’t insult waiters and waitresses before you have been served your food, you don’t treat the people that are trying to save your life by calling them racists and liars.

Sounds to me like she came in with a chip on her shoulder, and it may have cost her her life.

Not unlike young black males that haven’t quite figured out that when he cops pull you over, you don’t start fighting or running...not gonna end well.

But then again, they are the useful idiots for the white liberals once again to get what they want...

#35: "Also, would like to know what kind of “doctor” she was."

She was not an MD. She was an osteopath, an OD, which is sort of a backdoor MD, a cross between a chiropractor and an MD.

Says right near the first sentence of the article she was a physician.

IIRC, cases of Vitamin D toxicity come from people taking large amounts: like 60,000 IU per diem.

That would be about 25 soft-gel capsules a day for an extended period.

The right amount of vitamin D is notionally 4000 IU per diem (the oft-quoted 600 IU figure seems very low).

But you are correct: we should certainly get Vitamin D from sunshine if we possibly can.
