Public health officials and drugmakers must be transparent about the side effects people may experience after getting their first shot of a coronavirus vaccine, doctors urged during a meeting Monday with CDC advisors as states prepare to distribute doses as early as next month.
Dr. Sandra Fryhofer of the American Medical Association noted that both Pfizer’s and Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccines require two doses at varying intervals. As a practicing physician, she said she worries whether her patients will come back for a second dose because of the potentially unpleasant side effects they may experience after the first shot.
“We really need to make patients aware that this is not going to be a walk in the park,” Fryhofer said during a virtual meeting with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, or ACIP, an outside group of medical experts that advise the CDC. She is also a liaison to the committee. “They are going to know they had a vaccine. They are probably not going to feel wonderful. But they’ve got to come back for that second dose.”

I'll be getting the vaccine, both doses, and will plan accordingly. Everyone can make their own decision, at least at this point. Biden takes office, all bets are off.
Not looking forward to the shingles vaccine..I have to keep reminding myself the alternative is far far worse

Just had my first one yesterday, my upper arm is a little stiff but other then that no reaction.....

Just wait until you take the Prevnar 13 shot for the over 65 crowd. The pharmacist warned me, and I quote: "You do understand that this vaccination will most likely make you feel very ill for several days, don't you?"
She wasn't kidding. 4 days of almost not being able to go to work sick. Fever of 100, body aches, headache, chills, weakness and constant fatigue without being able to fall asleep. OTC meds helped a hair but not much.
Whysoever would a deadly novel virus that kills old men and reduces the fertility of young ones be released in a country overburdened with seniors and population, when the same effects would be more harmful to its strategic competitors?

It’s already started - airlines, and soon cruise ships simply won’t permit un-vaccinated passengers. I guess people can complain to Biden (assuming he takes office), but we all know how far that will get them.

All the vaccines go through complete phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3 testing with tens of thousands (over 100,000 worldwide) carefully monitored volunteers over a period of several months. This is the same process used to test every other vaccine and drug on the market.
Claiming the vaccine testing has been “rushed” or that it hasn’t followed the science or the normal protocols is a DEMOCRAT talking point used to discredit President Trump and his Operation Warp Speed program. Basically straight from the mouths of Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden.

I got the flu vaccine, and I had my first dose of the shingles vaccine this year. Unpleasant for a day, runny nose and headache, but not a big deal. If that’s what we’re talking about for the Wuhan virus vaccine, I don’t see what there is to discuss - who cares?
I am not an anti vaxxer although I won’t be getting the shots. I have never had a vaccine shot and I have never contracted a flu. Of course I have probably jinxed my self but that remains to be seen.
That said since when does any medication offered not have attending warnings or possible unwanted effects?

If it’s any consolation, I had both Shingrix shots and felt fine. And you’re absolutely right, it was far far easier than having shingles and post-herpetic neuralgia on the right half of my head. The PHN returns every so often, 5 years later.
