Not looking forward to the shingles vaccine..I have to keep reminding myself the alternative is far far worse
Just had my first one yesterday, my upper arm is a little stiff but other then that no reaction.....
Just wait until you take the Prevnar 13 shot for the over 65 crowd. The pharmacist warned me, and I quote: "You do understand that this vaccination will most likely make you feel very ill for several days, don't you?"
She wasn't kidding. 4 days of almost not being able to go to work sick. Fever of 100, body aches, headache, chills, weakness and constant fatigue without being able to fall asleep. OTC meds helped a hair but not much.
Shingles Side effectsFor me were not that bad.
If it’s any consolation, I had both Shingrix shots and felt fine. And you’re absolutely right, it was far far easier than having shingles and post-herpetic neuralgia on the right half of my head. The PHN returns every so often, 5 years later.
I’ve had shingles, and it is worse. I had the shingles shots and they didn’t bother me at all. Maybe a sore arm, but I don’t even remember, so it couldn’t have been that bad.
I had a localized red, hot reaction for about 3 days to each of the vaccine. That was all, no pain or swelling. My husband was reluctant to get it based on how my arm looked but the doctor recommended it and.....he had NO reaction to either shot. LOL!
I’d recommend the vaccine shots over having shingles every day and twice on Sunday.
I had the shingles vaccine. Other than slight soreness in my arm, not problem. Having known people who had shingles, I am sure that it was worth it.
The first shot was brutal the second was nothing
Fever headache and bone pain for about 4 to 6 hours and then fine
Not looking forward to the shingles vaccine.
I had my two Shingles shots two years ago and they didn't give me one symptom. My friends who have had the shots haven't had issues either.
I had a pretty bad adverse reaction to the shingles vaccine Shingrex. Now I have permanent vertigo. Wish I had not done it.
