Cancer-stricken talk radio legend Rush Limbaugh provided listeners a somber update on his condition Monday after recent scans showed some progression of cancer, which he said is not dramatic but still a step in the wrong direction.
Limbaugh announced in February that he was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer and had missed several shows this month to undergo treatment.
From the moment you get the diagnosis, theres a part of you every day, OK, thats it, lifes over, you just dont know when, Limbaugh said. So, during the period of time after the diagnosis, you do what you can to prolong life, do what you can to prolong a happy life. You measure a happy life against whatever medication it takes.
Limbaugh, who recently hosted President Trump for a two-hour interview, continued the devastating update on his diagnosis.
Its tough to realize that the days where I do not think Im under a death sentence are over, Limbaugh continued. Now, we all are, is the point. We all know that were going to die at some point, but when you have a terminal disease diagnosis that has a time frame to it, then that puts a different psychological and even physical awareness to it.

Damn hes had to face it
I have always disagreed with him a bit but respected his influence in conservatism as major....pivotal
Last 33 years he and Newt and Maximus are the big three and now DArtagnan Trump To round out most influential folks for the Right
And I was a daily 24/7 member listener
Im sorry big guy
Take the meds to turn down the volume for discomfort and keep talking to us as long as you want
And can
We will listen....I promise
This so so much sucks ...every angle...dammit
Indeed
He’s two months younger than me.
If I’d started listening to him earlier, I could have had my mind cleared up in 1991 instead of limping along till I found Free Republic in 1998 (and through FR, Ayn Rand). I wish I had. Because that’s what it felt like when I finally understood the conservative point of view: like my head had been full of clouds, and a cold wind just blew them away.
He converted to Jesus Christ and has accepted him as Savior...even previous Popes have recognized that as “saving” albeit in a “lowborn” way.
Did Lord protect America’s best friend Rush and make a miracle throught right to try if available.
I absolutely agree. We are from the class of 1998!
kudos to both of you. :)
This touches on my attitude about the virus. God will take me when he’s good and ready, and not a minute sooner.
“I hope that David has brought Rush to Christ.”
When Rush made the cancer announcement back in February, I did hear that David had led Rush to Christ. (IIRC) I don’t recall if it had recently, or months/years before.
Saddens while strengthening me. Godspeed, Rush. You have made a difference.
Lordy have mercy. I sure do hate to hear it. There must not be much more they can do.
Let us pray that someone similar can step into his very big shoes, even though there will never be another Rush.
You know Rush was a force to be reckoned with because he has all the right enemies.
Thank you Lord for letting us have Rush Limbaugh for so long.
Rush is a gem. I believe he is saved; would feel better if he said Jesus’ name. I am still praying for healing, and I will enjoy his life while he is on this side.
Pray for his wife, too. It has to be hard.
A close friend had the same sort of diagnosis and then a treatment that put the lung cancer tumors in remission. He perked up wonderfully and lived three years after the initial diagnosis.
“The man is truly amazing. Among so many other things, he has the top-rated radio talk show in the country - and is deaf.”
He is amazing!! I’ve been a listener since his first broadcast in the late ‘80s. He has done more than he or anyone fully recognizes for our country. He is not replaceable and we need him now more than ever.
Here’s praying that God will give us all a break, including Rush, and leave him here for a long time!
I remember how I felt when Andrew Breitbart died. It’s going to be way worse with Rush.
Rush was attacked by Michael Savage on Twitter last night for talking about his Cancer Diagnosis.
Their were plenty of Leftists joining Savage, but there were a lot of Conservatives (like me) pushing back.
“I remember how I felt when Andrew Breitbart died.”
Me, too. I cried when I heard he died. Also when Karen Carpenter died. Nobody else — not even my father.
I was trolling.
Please, not Mark Steyn! A little bit of him goes a long way. Couldn’t handle him 15 hours a week.
