I think they will press it to the point of someone getting hurt or killed and swear Trump either planned it or was not concerned enough to see it didn’t happen by cancellation. In other words, they want the terrorists to control the actions of the free people. Wasn’t their intent to begin with when they were trying to create unrest and lure Trump into it to blame him. Nixon "barely beat Humphrey" in the popular vote, it's true - but Nixon + Wallace got 57% of the popular vote AND 347 electoral votes, Humphrey was crushed by those criteria, especially considering the huge Democratic win just four years earlier, when LBJ got 61% of the popular vote and 486 electoral votes.
Between 1964 and 1968, the Riot Party lost 295 electoral votes and 18.1% of the popular vote.
That is completely obvious to anyone watching. All of this violence could have been ended day one if the blue mayors would have just used their lawful powers instead of supporting this terrorist activity.

That being said, never adopt the Language of the Left. An “Assault Weapon” is any inanimate object used to cause Injury or Death of another. A Baseball Bat is just a Baseball Bat until it is used to hit someone in the Head. At that point in time it becomes an “Assault Weapon”.
If they are applying the term to a Semi Automatic Rifle (like Joementia and Hoementia always do) they are pandering to the Ignorant amongst us, IE other DEMONcRATS and Soccer Mom RINOS.

Provoking a crackdown by the gov’t might be part of the plan. The left loves martyrs, and is not above generating them if it serves their purpose.

Take careful note of one common denominator in all of these Marxist vs cops confrontations: the Marxists rely upon the virtue and decency of the police to not retaliate. Would they stand in front of an armored vehicle if they didn’t fully well realize that the person driving will not drive over them? They are counting on the decency of the cops. The guy in red with the rifle knew what they were going to do (use tear gas). He knew they wouldn’t shoot him.
So, the Marxists have a distinct advantage in all of these confrontations; they know what the cops will not do, but the cops have no idea what these random people will do. It’s only a matter of time before one of two things happens: 1. The Marxists start using IEDs and heavier artillery to kill cops, 2. The cops feel threatened enough to open fire.
Note that confrontations between Marxists and “regular Americans” do not have this presumed decency factor to the same extent. This is why you have citizens who panic or go through a fight-or-flight episode and drive over rioters.

I think they got these military toys in anticipation of putting down right-wing insurrections. They don’t know whether to sh*t or wind their watches, now that they’re facing commies.
