Let's see, my basic high school education tells me

Ice melting = more water

More water = more evaporation

More evaporation = more clouds

More clouds = more participation

More participation + colder area = more snow

More snow = more ice

More ice = less evaporation

Less evaporation = less clouds

Less clouds = higher temperatures

Higher temperatures = ice melting

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
