The Pennsylvania Department of State announced today that it will provide postage-paid envelopes for mail-in and absentee ballots for the general election in November.
Our goal is to make voting as accessible, safe, and easy for eligible voters as possible, said Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar in a news release. Mail-in or absentee voting with prepaid postage means Pennsylvanians can vote from the comfort of their own home, without having to make a trip to the post office to buy a stamp, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligible voters can apply for mail-in or absentee ballots online or in person at county election offices and by paper forms.
According to the Department of State, Once the county determines the voter is eligible, the Departments funding will allow the counties to send a postage-paid ballot-return envelope with the ballot to the voter for their easy return.
The state is working with counties to determine the easiest way to implement the pre-paid postage.
The general election will be on Nov. 3, 2020. For people who want to vote in person, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Last fall, Gov. Wolf signed a law that makes it possible to vote by mail without having to provide an excuse. According to the Department of State, almost 1.5 million Pa. residents voted by mail-in or absentee ballot in the primary.

Work schedules often required my family to vote absentee even before the "no excuse" law took effect, and, frankly, paying your own postage (sometimes at 2oz rate) was a vestige of a poll tax.
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
Write off PA in November.
I dont see how this is a good thing
Absolutely, the Democrat’s plan is working.
Well I thought the article was wrong, but I researched it and our dumbass REPUBLICAN controlled legislature DID pass a bill authorizing mail-in voting in October, 2019. Grrrrrr!
there’s a difference between accommodating a crippled or extremely ill, confined person with an absentee ballot by request (for one thing, there’s the opportunity to verify citizenship, residency, and whether s/he is alive or deceased)........
and, on the other hand, just mailing out millions and millions and millions of ballots to everyone and his dog and deceased uncles and empty lots and and and.
this mass mailing is nothing better than enabling and begging for the mass-scale voting fraud that is already set up to occur
“Eligible voters can apply for mail-in or absentee ballots online or in person at county election offices and by paper forms”
Aside from the postage being paid how is this different from 2016?
“paying your own postage (sometimes at 2oz rate) was a vestige of a poll tax”
50 cents for a stamp. Yep that is a poll tax.
Postage stamps add to the racial wealth gap in the USA. Lets do away with postage stamps. Mail in the USA should be free. This is a Free country after all...
“frankly, paying your own postage (sometimes at 2oz rate) was a vestige of a poll tax. “
LOL
I may be wrong on this.
If you must apply for an absentee or mail in ballot, certify you are who you claim to be, have to sign the envelope when you send it back, I am ok with that. I would hope there would be some warnings that to falsify such information either in the application or the ballot itself is a crime (but not holding my breath on that one).
is this mass mailing to all addresses in PA?
Will they have the voter’s party affiliation on the envelope, so the mail sorter knows which ballots to “lose”?
Oh great so Wolf’s making us pay for other peoples mail in votes now!
bingo, remember our president supports absentee ballots, if they define mail in ballot with the same standard as absentee ballots in this state, then im okay with this.
I dont think thats going to solve the problem. NYs problem was missing or irregular signatures. There were also a lot with no postmark but they did not reject them for that reason.
With pre-paid stamps no cancellation date is on them—do not do it. Take it to the Board of Elections.
About time.
Work schedules often required my family to vote absentee even before the “no excuse” law took effect, and, frankly, paying your own postage (sometimes at 2oz rate) was a vestige of a poll tax.

You do understand that this is prep work for MASSIVE VOTE FRAUD this November? There will be the necessary number of ballots showing up post Election Day to allow Biden to carry Pennsylvania!
