The Ford Motor Companys website features the automakers long relationship with law enforcement that dates back seven decades and includes its tagline for the vehicles it has designed for the men and women in blue police-tested, street proven.
But now the wave of social unrest and virtue signaling following the death of George Floyd while in police custody is taking over the corporate world, including at Ford, where workers are urging leadership to stop manufacturing cop cars.
This despite the fact that Ford expresses pride about its connection to law enforcement, according to its website:
Ford introduced the first-ever police package in 1950. Over the following decades, weve worked alongside law enforcement agencies with a purpose-built philosophy that continues today. Every vehicle is built with what we call the Ford Police DNA safety, durability, performance, purpose built and upfit friendly.
Like the officers who drive them, Ford police vehicles are specialized to meet the needs of the communities they serve providing law-enforcement agencies of all stripes with the ideal tools to get the job done.
But now anti-police rhetoric is spilling over into action taken against not just police officers who have committed crimes but all men and women in uniform 800,000 in the United States, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
Since the first recorded police death in 1786, there have been more than 22,000 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, the memorial website states.

I’ve been a Ford guy for a long time.
I’ll never buy their products again.
We switched to GMC truck, this year, after many years with Ford trucks.
Now we have disgruntled employees telling management how to run their business, and getting away with it.
Shame on Ford for caving to these malcontents.
Could it be union boots telling the dues payers to say this?
If they cave in to the BLM assholes, why would you support them?
Oh, FFS. This has become a descent beyond madness.
Thanks.
Ford CEO Jim Hackett statement/reply to these Karens...
By taking away our Police Interceptors, we would be doing harm to their safety and making it harder for them to do their job. Again, this is why, given our insights, new capabilities and leadership, I believe these unfortunate circumstances present Ford with an even greater opportunity to not only innovate new solutions but also leverage our unique position to support the dialogue and reform needed to create safer communities for all. I do appreciate people speaking their mind to me on this issue it helped me generate this note to explain why we are continuing our commitment to police forces all over the world in our trusted products. Thank you for caring so deeply about the Company and our people, and for all you do for Ford.
A hundred employees? Organized. By unions and commies and FORD's going to give up making police cars? LOL - what a lame company.
Thats what I am thinking
Shame on Ford for caving to these malcontents.
I missed that.
proove it
F ord you!
Prove they won’t.
I love my 2003 4WD F-150.
Been a great vehicle, The only repairs have been stuff that was my fault or that of other drivers.
But I can’t imagine ever again buying anything made by people this stupid.
If these cancel workers are on the police car line, their work cannot be trusted. It would be risky to leave them employed.
