So you didn’t see those long lines waiting to be in on the opening of Star Wars, etc. movies? The Harry Potter series has feature long lines, too.

I live in the small city of Rome, New York. We have Walmart, a Price-Chopper, and a P&C grocery store. There is also an Aldi’s, but I never go there.

You can learn Spanish, see many generations of the same family and sometimes witness the miracle of birth next to the dried beans.

First time in all these years I can recall you making me laugh! Giving credit where credit is due.

Just left mine in Bluffton, SC. They were counting heads, only one entrance, but there wasn’t a line, walked right in. They can save their time, because I was one of just a few wearing gloves and mask, including workers, and almost all customers were not either. relatively crowded though with shoppers. I turned around and walked out

"I got my prescriptions filled at the same time...I was the only person in the drug/pharmacy area."

My wife's prescriptions and my prescription are really the only thing we go to WalMart for... Counted the pills left in mine and I'm good for 5 more weeks... The old lady has about 2-months worth of both of her precriptions left...

This is only reason we'll monitor events at Walmart in the coming weeks...

I am not into waiting in line to get in anywhere.

Same here. Luckily, while not Preppers, we always carried a large stock of food and TP. Only thing tight is paper towels and that is a no brainer.

My upstate county of Oneida in New York State has 80 confirmed cases...1 death. There’s 234,878 people within the county.

last two days I went to>>>>

1030AM
BEST BUY to return something. They came out to my car to get item. Came back with return receipt

1100AM
HOME DEPOT
Waltzed right in and bought what I needed

1000 AM
ALDIS
Waltzed right in and bought what I needed

1030 AM
UPS STORE
Waltzed right in and bought what I needed

I wore a mask but only when entering a store. I do this as a courtesy to store employees and 10% for self protection.
I am not going to get my mask all wet and moist by wearing it outside or in my car. Lets get real.

I just got back from Walmart and the first time I had to get in line. Ok no problem, since I arrived at 8 am. Once inside, OMG Walmart turned the aisles into one way. Each aisle had floor arrows. I did not notice the arrows until I turned into an isle and this lady said “your going the wrong way.

Then I went to Grocery Outlet to get a tub of butter. As I walked in with my tote bag the cashier said “Maam! you can not bring your own bag into the store” So I went back to my car to leave my bag. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

"So Walmart will have people standing in line before allowing them into the store?"

With the wind blowing, and carrying germs across the people standing outside, I'd say you stand more of a chance of catching something flying about, than in the actual store itself.

My WM (which does not have a drive-thru pharmacy) just sent me a notice that they will bring prescriptions out to your car or mail to your home for no added cost.

How do you get groceries from your vehicle into the house? With the Wally World ord and pick up app you only have to worry about getting stuff into your house, not going to get out and trudge around inside the store then wait in checkout lines and load your stuff then drive home and unload. My local Wally World has the stystem well in hand. Very efficient.

"I am not into waiting in line to get in anywhere."

I have a bad back and knees, and can't stand in one place for very long without being in pain. I have no problem walking, it's just standing still that bothers me.

Same at home depot

Today is over seed day in my battle against crab grass.

They open at 6a, got there at 7a.

Walked right in.

However, ~20 people spaced in line when I walked out 15 min later.

Honestly, I’m loving this break. Learning to do everything for myself again. Wash/wax my own car. Wash and treat my roof. Build out a studio space in the basement. Organize the garage.

...and the biggest plus is having time to spend with my son.

My income was throttled back until our plants spin back up, but we can manage. My thoughts and prayers are with those who will not be able to make ends meet and those hit with the Enemy of Humanity Communist China Virus.

"I’ll go to the over 60 shopping period/day, Tuedsays 6:00am to 7:00am. "

Yikes! I've been retired over 16 years, and the only time I got up that early was when I had surgeries. I worked 3-11 p.m. most of my life, and didn't go to bed until 2 or 3 a.m. after getting home. That schedule hasn't changed at all in the years I've been retired. If anything, I stay up even later now...many times until 4-4:30 a.m. Then I get up anywhere between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. It's 2:35 p.m. here now, and I just finished having my breakfast. It's just me here, so I don't have to cater to anyone else's needs.

LOL...

In light of your post, I now believe that an Aldi market 10-miles from us seems to fit the your Food Town description as well...

Before the virus we would order online and do curbside, but they seem to have discontinued the service. There is constantly the message: no slots available check back later and I do... often.
