Global aviation is shutting down because of the coronavirus outbreak and travel restrictions designed to contain it, and many airlines will need government bailouts within weeks or face bankruptcy.....
American Airlines said Saturday it would reduce its international capacity by three quarters between March 16 and May 6. United Airlines said it will be cutting capacity in half for April and May, while Delta is reducing capacity by 40% in the next few months the largest cut in the company's history. Delta is down to just one flight a day on five European routes....

Wait until the 50+% of the population living paycheck to paycheck run low on food, then what?
If any of the larger airlines go bottom up, maybe they can restructure with larger seats and more leg room.
Our government overlords are going to bankrupt all of us
Businesses and people really, should have three months cushion. When starting a small business and taking the course the SBA has for doing so, they tell you you need three months because it will take that long for incoming revenue to add up.
Yeah, funny how demonicRATS bemoan the poor sucker who needs free this and free that because they are living paycheck-to-paycheck and now they are taking that paycheck away.
People are forgetting flight crews and ground crews and maintenance personnel who’ll be losing their livelihood.
This is becoming beyond serious and yet little is being done to provide a realistic perspective ... we are truly at the total mercy of a flu virus. Unbelievable to the extreme!
It is NOT a flu or influenza virus. It's not in that family. It's a SARS virus. Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. It attacks the lungs.
Are their fuel prices going down?
” people really, should have three months cushion.”
I would guess about 80%+ of people don’t have this, I did not attain that until my late 40’s.
Additionally people are taught the GVT will take of them, so people do not try.
The airlines never fought the imposition of tyranny through the TSA. They told me, ‘You don’t like it, don’t fly.” I took them up on it. Somebody else that uses their service can feel sorry for them.
My wife is at the DC Costco, stocking up on adult beverages as I type. “My wife, I think I’ll keep her”
will their deaths still be attributed to the corona virus or gun violence?
Right now I am feeling sorry for the everyday workers being furloughed in restaurants and such as most live paycheck to paycheck.
Wait until the 50+% of the population living paycheck to paycheck run low on food, then what?

I told my guys this morning they will be laid off, 2 weeks to the day I told them we are headed for a banner year and I was currently interviewing to add to our team.
The only way to shut down the greatest economic engine in human history this quickly is to throw a massive wrench into it while it’s running. That’s what they’ve chosen to do. Good luck being able to restart it back up.
God help us all
We were gonna fly to Hawaii in June for Granny’s 90th birthday. I guess it will be a teleconference now. I also hope she is not negatively impacted by this disease as she is in the target group.
Yup. If the coronavirus doesn’t kill us, the “cure” just might....
This is going to reach a point where the doctors in charge of the response are going to be told that the economy can’t sustain any more damage and we’re going to start backing off on the social distancing. More deaths or a depression? You pays your money and you takes your choice.
We’ll get the worst of both worlds in that event.
With so many cities shutting down bars and restaurants, among others, many businesses could end up going out of business, in the absence of bailouts.
While this virus is serious and we should take actions, is it really worth it, to cause severe dislocations in our economy, to fight it like this?
I suspect fewer people are going out anyway due to their concerns. I think there’s a difference between people choosing to avoid certain public places, vs. government edicts compelling businesses to shut down or curtail their activities.
