President Trump claimed Sunday that his tweets are sufficient notice to Congress of any possible U.S. military strike on Iran, in an apparent dismissal of his obligations under the War Powers Act of 1973.
Trumps declaration, which comes two days after his administration launched a drone strike that killed top Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani, was met with disbelief and ridicule from congressional Democrats, who called on the president to respect the role of the legislative branch in authorizing new military action abroad.
These Media Posts will serve as notification to the United States Congress that should Iran strike any U.S. person or target, the United States will quickly & fully strike back, & perhaps in a disproportionate manner, Trump tweeted from his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla., late Sunday afternoon. Such legal notice is not required, but is given nevertheless!

At least the a$$hole acknowledged that Trump is "our president"
Yes, what a prez says is legally binding. What the heck this stupid PoS think?
If he hadn’t he would have had to explain why he voted to impeach the President!
Now we know what John Kerry was preparing with Iran in terms of electioneering.
Does the comPost also think Trump’s notification should be written with a quill pen and sent to Congress on horseback?
Shouldn’t the WaPo stop using paper and save the planet?
This azzhole and other dimwitted dems keep saying this. How the hell would they know ???
has the DNC traitor-witch Pelosi not decided
what is “sufficient” in her
egotistical botox-poisoned state?
Twitter appears to be the legal publisher of the official record.
How the hell would they know ???

The point is, of course, that they don’t. However, it would greatly assist America’s enemies, foreign and domestic, if they had a bullet-point list of strategic and tactical actions, complete with justifications and rationals that could be countered, while also being nit-picked forever.
Which is why they ain’t getting that.
Which won’t stop them from trolling for it.
I guess I don’t understand their problem except that they are liars in trouble makers. Are they unable to read?

SJWs always *project*.
This is 100% bullsh!t.
The War Powers Act of 1973 requires the President to notify Congress within 48 hours AFTER military action has been taken. Tweeting a message in advance of a strike that may or may not happen has nothing to do with the War Powers Act.
This is why President Trump specifically said he's NOT legally required to notify Congress ... in advance of such action.
Huh?
The rocket that killed the Iranian General severely wounded the leftist Ameritrash. The left is bleeding out
They can not recover and in defense can offer only irrational platitudes
>>”Trump thinks a crazed Tweet satisfies his War Powers Act obligations to Congress, Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.) tweeted.
Hypocrite
So he was supposed to write a brief 1 sentence letter, sign it, and send it through the mail on Saturday night or Sunday?
Go Donald. War on 2 fronts against liars and self serving MSM and politicians.
Well done using social media against them as they are forced to cover it and cant ban you from doing it.
Also great post re 48 hours after. The key phrase omitted by MSM.
Where was all the outrage when Bin Laden was taken out or other Obama drone strikes occurred ?
Felicia Somnez thinks the most powerful President of the most powerful country on the planet ought to check with his Leftist enemies in advance of any military action. We know they could be trusted not to leak such information to the Washington Post.
