It has been an emotional start to the new year for Rocio Rebollar Gomez and her family.
On Thursday, after 31 years in the United States, a country where she had built a life and raised three children, including a son now in the United States Army, Ms. Gomez was deported to Tijuana, Mexico, where she had little family left.
That son, Second Lt. Gibram Cruz, 30, who has been in the Army for five years and rushed to be with her the day after Christmas, said he was shocked at the way his mother was treated and called the actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement completely inhumane.

no it doesn’t
What does Pelousy say? No one is above the law! Case closed, apply for immigration just like everyone else who does it legally.
That’s what I was wondering...here 31 years and hasn’t become a citizen? Wonder if she speaks English yet...
31 years! How often did she try to make it legal?
Her son never helped her!?
TFB
Yes...WHY THE HELL didn’t she become a CITIZEN???
The just thing to do would be to keep the son, deport the mother. Wait, but that’s what’s being done. All good. Deport the mother and make her pay some hefty fines in lieu of imprisonment.
She had 31 years to get her shit together and choose. She didn’t. The law is the law! At least you are making an effort. This other one is popping out pups and doing nothing to Assimilate. Wonder how many elections and tax returns she has filled out?
She entered illegally FOUR times and was deported each time. You have to wonder why she did not apply for citizenship.
"after 31 years in the United States ... That son, Second Lt. Gibram Cruz, 30"
Math was never my thing.
Right. Does she speak English yet?
Is she a felon? How many DUI’s does she have?
Something must have triggered her deportation. What are they not telling us?
This makes things a bit more clear.
I was married in 2005 and it took nearly two years before my wife had a visa to come over here. And I was then, and now, active duty military.
She gave the US an Army officer. I should think that would be more than enough to mitigate the circumstances.
No, she is an illegal who delivered a son on US soil, who, by our laws was afforded many benefits in life.
He also had the privilege of the US Army making him an Officer.
I wouldnt put it past the New York Slimes to be the ones who got her deported. Simply because they could inflate and agitate the propaganda against Trumps inhumane deportation policies.
Gomez was removed from the country in 1995, 2005 and 2009, Ms. Cabrera said.
This makes things a bit more clear.
That puts her arrival date at 1988.
Why didn’t she participate in the amnesty back then? It continued on through 1990 or so.
Was she outside the parameters to be eligible?
If not, guess who is to blame for this.
Sorry bud. Your mom set herself up for this.
It’s not inhumane to enforce the laws that are enforced on others.
A whole lot of dreamers are vulnerable right now.
Who knew?
I hear what you’re saying, but her son chose to join the Army as an adult. She didn’t give him. It’s a tough situation, but all parties knew for years and years that she had no legal right to be here.
An illegal alien got deported. No downside to the story. None. How many lifelong Democrat voters did she breed while living in the country she invaded?
