Heard On Rush...Can Anyone Confirm?
The Rush Limbaugh Show ^ | 10-26-2019 | OrangeHoof

Posted on 10/26/2019 5:56:15 AM PDT by OrangeHoof

I heard this in passing on Rush's show and am not a 24/7 subscriber so I am unable to verify this through his app or website or even know if he sourced it from another website or publication.

I'm not trying to confirm what he said, only hoping to confirm the truth of what he said.

I think we should take the time to point out a few outstanding members of the GOP, such as Gaetz and Jordan.

***********

Yes, there are a few courageous GOP reps leading the charge. The problem is there are not many willing to follow them into battle.

Republicans are not fighters. Just imagine how much better off we and the country would all be if more of them were willing to stand up for us.

It's been said that God angers people before he kills them.

The saying is ambiguous as to whether "mad" refers to angry or crazy. I've always thought the latter was intended, but there's plenty of overlap there.

We all need to keep in mind that the liberal base is essentially the same size as the conservative base.

This whole thing is about solidifying the base and converting enough of the 20% of the wishy-washy in the middle.

Getting the base so worked up that they will crawl over broken glass to vote for any Democrat, no matter how loony he/she is.

Republican turnout had better be darn near 100% or we will lose this.

Well, I guess I could "correct" it for just for little ole' you. I made the meme for someone else's comment on this thread.

From now on, you need to learn to create your own memes if you have your own ideas of what you want.

But it is a meme and is meant not to be taken seriously to begin with.

As in the Clinton case, many Senators are unlikely to have the appetite for a high stakes trial that might take a turn that puts them at a political disadvantage. Suppose, for example, that the House case unravels under public exposure, or that Trump asks to address the Senate personally and delivers a rousing and persuasive defense of himself? Or that win or lose, he takes to campaigning against the Senators who voted against him?

I can easily see the Senate GOP and Democrats from red states summarily voting to reject a Trump impeachment on the basis that hearings were unfairly held in secret without the opportunity for the President or his party to cross-examine witnesses or to subpoena documents and witnesses themselves.

Such an approach would also play to the Senate's institutional frame of mind that being older, wiser, and more experienced, Senators often have to correct mistakes and oversights by the House and its impetuous membership. Congress and state legislatures both display that dynamic, which has a large if seldom appreciated role in American legislative politics.

This, they’ll just say “I’m voting guilty no matter what, there’s no point in hearing the evidence or being present at the trial.” And dem voters will applaud for this.

The Bolshies think they need their own Constitution they can ignore as opposed to the current Constitution they can ignore.

All good points. And thanks for the thoughtful reply.

To be honest, things in DC are so volatile right now that I’m not sure what will happen. One thing that has been a constant however is Republican hesitation and weakness (some things never change). I just don’t trust any of them because they never give us any reasons to.

re: “They don’t do what Limbaugh claims.”

Claims and counter claims; that’s ALL that’s been purported so far.

Why are we not hearing calls for those Senators running
for the Presidency to recuse themselves from the Senate
trial?

The Democrats have an edge over us in the sense that they vote for people who they know will fight for them. They get a payback for their votes.

We don’t.

Hate is an extremely self-destructive emotion. It literally destroys you from within. I think that the rejection of hate (the "turn the other cheek" philosophy) is one of the main pillars of Christianity, which as we know if very much lacking in the Democrat party.

Just one case in point is John Brennan. The man is literally possessed with hate. It exudes out of every pore of his body. A horrible way to live. Every single photo I see of him is similar to the one I post here. Mark my words, he has a lot of misery ahead of him.

If Democratic Senators followed the rules—that would be totally amazing.

Since they are royalty they have no use for rules—except to bludgeon compliance out of deplorables.

How long would a trial in the senate take?

One can read the conduct of the Clinton impeachment. As for staying for the vote, that takes an hour or two.

Clinton impeachment trial took about a month. Legislative and other businesss took place in that time period too.

For conservatives and Republicans, DC is hostile territory. Like water wears down stone, even the hardest conservatives and Republicans in DC tend to get worn down by the constant opposition and treachery and the routine struggles of life and career. Trump, God Bless him, seems of an entirely different sort.

Wasn’t the discussion concerning senators leaving to go campaign outside DC?
