Conservative DC Think Tank Invites Taylor Swift For Policy Discussion
The Federalist ^ | 19 SEP 2019 | Chrissy Clark

Posted on 09/20/2019 9:32:05 AM PDT by ManHunter

In a Rolling Stone interview, Taylor Swift said she has a newfound obsession with politics.

“Really, I keep trying to learn as much as I can about politics, and it’s become something I’m now obsessed with, whereas before, I was living in this sort of political ambivalence because the person I voted for had always won,” Swift said.

"We were in such an amazing time when Obama was president because foreign nations respected us. We were so excited to have this dignified person in the White House. I think a lot of people are like me, where they just didn’t really know that this could happen. But I’m just focused on the 2020 election."

And there's more...

She doesn’t want to consult her; would like to inform her, but Taylor’s not interested in learning about conservative views.

”We were in such an amazing time when Obama was president because foreign nations respected us. We were so excited to have this dignified person in the White House.”

Normally, I don’t dump on another person’s reality, but this time I’d make an excretion.

I hope for a “reality reset” for her and for those like her who are caught in this trap.

The cognitive dissonance will be temporary, but the benefits could last a lifetime!

I’m 70, but I like parody videos, which is the only way I even know who these pop stars are. Long time Weird Al fan, I see a parody first, then have to see the original to understand the jokes in the parody. Example: Lorde’s “Royals” becomes Weird Al’s “Foil”.

Smosh! and Bart Baker have done great parodies of Taylor Swift vids. Bart even did “Taylor Swift reacts” where he hired a lookalike to rant & scream at his parodies.

Anyway, it had seemed that Taylor sort of avoided politics, if only to not turn off some of her fan base. She’s now showbiz PC left, but let’s hope she accepts the invite and see how she acts in a scholarly setting.

Taylor might even learn something.

All Rats and plenty Republicans, some here, too, choose to swallow what Big Media excretes, especially if it doesn’t SEEM to be directly related to politics, because it’s so much easier than critical analysis and independent thought.

Are they inviting her because they know they can’t get attention any other way?

Or are they inviting her because having the endorsement of an uneducated and emotional clown makes everyone else in the room look smart?

First, let’s be clear. The Federalist is actually calling on Taylor Swift about her comment, “Really, I keep trying to learn as much as I can about politics, and it’s become something I’m now obsessed with...”

In other words, they are calling on Swift’s desire to “learn as much...about politics” by introducing her to conservative political ideas, which she cannot get from mainstream and social media. In no way is the Federalist endorsing Swift’s communist beliefs whatsoever.

......around 2015 or 2016, the Left raged because things hadn’t gone according to plan under St Obama’s “hope and change” blessedness........
“Obama Disappointment Syndrome” was rearing its ugly head.

Premier movie director, Oliver Stone, said that many Americans had become disillusioned
with Barack Obama’s policies, having originally thought he would be “a man of great integrity.”

Stone said: “On the contrary, Obama doubled down on the (George W.) Bush administration policies,” and
“has created ... the most massive global security surveillance state that’s ever been seen, way beyond East Germany’s Stasi”.[97]

Woke does not translate to smart. She is the classic target of the statement ‘Tis better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are ignorant, then to speak out and remove all doubt about your level of intelligence’. She is driving away her better informed fans.

I think they’re calling her bluff, she’s not interested in learning anything but what the DNC tells her to think.

It is always amusing to see the results when people step outside their own comfort zone to tell the rest of us how to think. Such is the case with Taylor Swift. While I don’t listen to her music and can’t name even one of her songs, she clearly is good at her trade. But, having opined on matters about which she knows nothing, she opens herself up to self-inflicted ridicule. I would like to know if Ms. Swift believed it was “dignified” for Obama to pass a message to Putin through Medvedev that he (Obama) will have “more flexibility” after his last election? Likewise, how “dignified” was it for Obama to say that if he had a son he would look like Travon Martin, without bothering to understand the facts that led to Martin’s confrontation with George Zimmerman? How “dignified” was it for Obama to condemn as racist a Cambridge Police Officer who made the “mistake” of detaining an African American Professor because the officer did not know who the man was or what he was doing in proximity to a house late at night? Finally, how dignified was it for Obama to arrange to ship over $1 billion in cash, no strings attached, to the Mullahs in Iran? If Ms. Swift wants to be a deep thinker with an accurate understanding of the Obama years, she needs to examine these questions and understand the consequences to our country from these actions by the former President.

Swift and the rest of her ‘homies’ are so thick they cannot see that most other countries only ‘respect’ us when we have a President who is subjugating our country to theirs. Faux respect isn’t respect.......sad to realize our system of ‘education’ is putting out so many ignorant Americans.

Of course, the libs don't even bring up his OTHER kerfuffle that would have killed the political career of any non-progressive, his Indian dress-up and "namaste" intonations in the sub-continent.

No idea if his eybrows are sagging this time around.
