The New York Times suddenly made a major revision to a supposed bombshell piece late Sunday concerning a resurfaced allegation of sexual assault by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh — hours after virtually all 2020 Democratic presidential candidates had cited the original article as a reason to impeach Kavanaugh.
The update included the significant detail that several friends of the alleged victim said she did not recall the purported sexual assault in question at all. The Times also stated for the first time that the alleged victim refused to be interviewed, and has made no comment about the episode.

So I’m reading the new anti-Kavanaugh book by shockingly (really) biased reporters at NYT. All claimed anonymous sources are anti-Kavanaugh while all but a tiny few on-record sources are downright effusive. The civil legal system and judges are partly to blame, When was the last time a liable or slander suit awarded against these media liars.
What drives me crazy about this kind of stuff is, yea sure sue for liable and defamation and spend a year trying to get the system to even hear your case, but the definition of the truth in the court of public opinion is the first story that hits the street everything after that is a rebuttal.
So let’s smear this guy’s character some more cuz we can and we can create the image of evil white guy conservative.

This is not about making anything stick. This is about (1) trying to intimidate PDJT into nominating someone the Dems approve of when Ruth Buzzie finally passes, and (ii) trying to intimidate conservatives into rejecting a nomination for the seat.
One can only hope that PDJT has gotten the message that you can't work with these bastards, you can only fight them with everything you've got.
This might cover the Times’ behind legally, but it won’t slow down the Dems’ smear campaign or calls for Kavanaugh’s impeachment.

If we had real law and justice in this Country someone would look into the "alleged victim" and find out who prompted her to come up with this obviously false accusation. There's a money trail in there somewhere. The "alleged victim" should be prosecuted and serve time, as should everyone connected with the false attack - all the way back up to the original money source. A few years 3 hots and a cot would be a great lesson to them, and an even better message to any others who might want to try something similar.

I guess you didn't read the article. The "alleged victim" did not come forward and, according to friends, has no recollection of it. NYT is the perp here.
Not that getting publicly discgraced is a problem for the NYT, they're a sewer rag now anyway but. I believe she was in on it, in spite of her story now. The NYT wouldn't have pressed forward with this trash that could be so easily torpedoed. This had to have been a surprise to them too.
